Well since i want this problem fixed i will give it to ya striaght.

I was browsing the web (ok yeah i was on a porn site) and when i click on one link all a sudden a shit load of pop ups comes on, and one was the screen where it asks "Do you trust this site" click yes or no type of thing. I exited out of everything quickly, and dont recall ever hitting "Yes". So then i try to reopen internet explorer and it says "Explorer has caused an error <unknown>". ive tried rebooting like a million times and it wont work, ive ran spybot and nothing worked. I tried scanning it with norton and it came up clean. But now i cant open up internet explorer which sucks cause now im using AOL.

And suggestions?

Well, yeah, if you need porn, just use Google images of course! :D

But seriously, do you have a Windows XP recovery disc? That should fix it since IE is integrated into Windows. Just a note, that will not erase any of your files, but you might have to re-update Windows once the recovery is done. Hope it works.

I don't know how to fix your error, but from now on use FireFox, trust me, keeps teh viruses and spyware at bay.

Multiple solutions (the next solution is more drastic than the next)

- Boot up in safe mode (F8 on startup, IIRC) and then scan for viruses/spyware
- Download Windows Updates
- System restore. Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore
- Switch to Firefox
- Reformat your computer
- Give up pr0n

Well im on Windows ME. Ill download firefox, anyone got a link to the download cause im lazy.

you should still try and fix ie. You don't want to have an exploit still on your computer.

Download zone alarm (they have a completely free version) firewall. This will add another layer of protection on your computer.

Well i could but in a week or so ill have a new computer so im not that worried about it. When i get my new computer ill use firefox from now on.

OK well, IMO using ME and not 98SE, 2000 or XP is 99.99% of your problem.
It is WELL documented that ME is a POS, and the bastard child of Bill and MS.
It never really worked well at ALL, EVER, right from the start.

Using one of the other ones, you could have just about hit the restart button or done something else just as drastic and the OS + browser would have recovered just fine.
