Before even reading the link I'm guessing a leaked 360 version?

I've eh.. seen some things on some sites... I haven't 'done' anything, though.

I have no problem waiting. A few years ago I'd be nuts for it and go insane, but I've learned the less you hype a game the better it turns out to be. I pretty much assume everything is shit, then judge it when I play it, and if I never play it, then it's always shit in my eyes. :)

I'm not reading this thread, on threat that I might get spoiled. I guess this is going to be the last time I browse game-related subforums / /v/ until Christmas. I know I have too weak a will to not spoil myself about the story.

Only Xbox 360 version, pff.

It angers me that anyone would distribute a game before a company has a chance to make a dime from all of their time, effort, artistic talent and money. It's killing what you love.

Can't they be satisfied with piracy gone wild on release day?

I would kick this mother****er's shit in.

F3?

Saw it a while ago, didn't watch the vid.

Dude it happened to HL2.

HL2 totally lost sales, I'm surprised Valve didn't go bankrupt

Pretty lolworthy tbh. So we PC gamers should have to put up with inhibitive measures like SecuROM et al, eh, just so that titles released on our platform can be made as impervious to piracy and day-zero leaks as those on the oh-so-pristine consoles...? This is a nice demonstration of why that argument is a load of horseshit.

You know what would be hilarious? If this happens to Gears 2.

"No PC version due to pirating."

This is similar to how I feel. I don't fall into hype machines so easily, nor have I ever really had a favorite video game franchise. Never.

As a result, I'm really one of the most un-biased non-fanbois you'll ever speak video games with.

BTW, pirates suck, as do large publishing corporations that care nothing about the gamer's opinion's. What we need is moderation. Is that too much to ask these days? :|

Presumably they don't have a problem with advertising the fact that they're breaking the law.

It's a civil matter. Of course they don't care, they're pirates. Frankly this is what I was waiting for, something that would slap the PC piracy argument right in the face.

Yeah soon or later, they are going to stop game refunds completely.

Afterall everybody knows that console gamers break the law more so than the PC gamers

I lol'd.

And the gameplay looks rather unpolished and uneven, I've watched a few gamestreams. While it has certain good points (the solid, coherent choice for having the loading screens resemble projectors), some character art (a few people actually look like wastelanders), environment art (has some solid locations), some weapons, what undermines it is the AI, which is borderline retarded, the mediocre writing, some choices not fitting at all (GIGN-style riot armour in a Vault? In a FALLOUT setting? It's like dropping Marines from COD4 in a steampunk game...), VATS...

It's an incredibly uneven and unpolished game. Which is unacceptable for an AAA title.

That and I really love how much of a slap in the face it is for people claiming PC is the hive of piracy.

As long as I can shoot every expressionless character in the face I'll be happy. AI is a touchy subject and always will be. What do you want it to do? Cover and take a few pot shots at the player every now and then? Hope the eagle eyed player doesn't notice the other few enemies flank him? Actually that'd be pretty awesome. Quick, Valve do it now.

Things AI needs.

1. Ability to cover.
2. Ability to flank.
3. Ability to retreat.
4. Ability to interact with the environment itself. Hide their shadows, hide in shadows, make noise, don't make noise, etc.

What I'd like to see is a moment in which a few bandits spot the player, follow him and bait him into some sort of ambush. This could go wrong however if they don't pay attention to the other parties be those human or mutant watching them.

Yeah, that would be cool. Bandits lure player and then suddenly a mutated lion eats them. Really!

its been out since yesterday mornin. hold on...checking.... 21 hours ago.

PC-ver.......:$oon!!!

How the hell does one get the game before it is released anywhere?? As in, how exactly do these "pirates" get them?

Anything, really. From a manufacturer burning retail copies of the games through reviewers burning copies for their family/friends, shops etc.

Very rarely does it include any hacking.

Hacking rarely ever includes any hacking anymore.

But then the image you get of a hacker sat in front of a small screen with a command line editor (vi's awesome, thanks spark) was how everyone used computers back then.

Also, lawl at the 360 piracy.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but is this really a big deal at all? I wasn't under the impression that 360 piracy was very widespread. You'd think the kind of people that would know how to do that, where to get the parts, and are willing to spend the time on it probably aren't the same people that bought many games in the first place. It's not like with the PS2 where you could get a commercially available product and a HDD, then load up on every game you want.

But I am very ignorant on 360 piracy so who knows.

lol the news isnt really helping, neither is posting on forums about it, its kinda counter-productive

"duuuude i cant wait for fallout 3 man, i already saved my money for it"
"didnt u read the news? its already out on torrent sites"
"NO SHIT MAN, brb gotta download"
*downloads game, never buys it, spends saved money on weed instead*

Bah only about 3K people grabbing it on the pirate bay but that doesn't mean much. Usenet and all that jazz, private sites, etc.

When you juxtapose FO3 XBOX360 piracy with Ubisoft's and Cliffy's statements about PC piracy being atrocious, you can't help but laugh.

Instead of focussing their efforts on producing a quality product.

Guys, any evidence that Bethesda utterly failed at getting what Fallout is about can be summed up by it's endgame:

The Brotherhood activates a giant walking robot that shoots lasers and broadcasts "Communism must be destroyed" PAs. It's named liberty prime.

I mean, FFS. A ****ing robot?

Uh doesn't it have more than one ending? Or is someone just taking the piss?

It has two endings - one in which Sarah Lyons dies (the stupid bitch enters a radiated area without her PA helmet on) or you die.

The "multiple endings" thing is the same as in previous Fallouts - there is a slideshow showing different fates settlements you visited had.

Also, marvel at Bethesda's realistic graphics:

It's fine really, everything except for the head that is. Texture is all wrong, shape is wrong, hair is wrong, just all wrong. Give me a toolkit and I can fix most of those issues. Why beth can't is beyond retarded.

It's because everyone with experience was sacked, and only noob devs are on board.

Also, colour palette. Or rather, lack thereof.

That's the same rendering for the head they used in Oblivion. Unmistakable. (Face creation thing from Oblivion - remember?)

I don't know the first thing about Fallout, but that looks like an Oblivion head 'shopped on, to me. Even the background of rock and rubble looks straight out of an Oblivion Dungeon.

But I guess not, if you guys have seen the videos
