hi all,i am at the top where i have to throw energy balls into the centre of the reactor, but dr breen keeps getting away,i dont know if i am throwing the energy balls in the right place, can someone point me in the right direction where i should be throwing them please.i have looked at the walkthrough but the screenshot isnt very specific.please please help.by the way what a brilliant game this is

Try to concentrate on destroying the shields around the reactor core as a priority. Once they've gone, taking out the exposed core is a snip.

Use the grav gun to just keep getting energy balls and flinging them at the shields as soon as you get them. Don't even think about what else is going on around you.

Can you see the white thingy? Take those balls and throw it in there. There'll be shields rising up, but just keep shooting! You'll kill him in the end.

Kill him!? He only fall down and Alyx comes out. And G-man walk out and the end. Oh my god, Sierra has done a bad job.

That ending was well hard. The only hard part of the entire game! A lot of people told me to shoot the gunships first. But of you do that Breen is long gone before you even start on the reactor shields. Better to just get as much cover as possible behind those pillars & forget about the gunships. Just keep hitting those shields.

No, he dropped down a long way and got killed.

Dude the hardest part of the game(for me) is RavenHolm!

Sierra?

Amen to that. The ending was almost an anticlimax, I think. But perhaps that's exactly what Valve was striving for. Not that I mind, of course. At least they had the balls to give you an amazing weapon and not bother with a big ultra-hard boss where you need to destroy give crystals before you can shoot his brain (yeah, HL1's end battle kinda bored me).

Wow, the stupidty of this this post almost makes me sick. First of all, there's a lot more to the end than some flashy "cool" stuff. Play HL1 and actually listen to what the G-man says at the end of HL2. Secondly, what does Seirra have to do with anything? As far as I know, VALVe prodced this game, not Sierra. Could be wrong on this, so someone please correct me if I am.

Please work on sentence structure and grammar. Makes you sound like a fool. Oh, and that name seems like a no-no. "JesusChrist"?

Hey, at least he's not JesusChris.

Meh, I loved the ending. I've been brought up on a steady diet of boss battles and ending cinamatics and so to have to nuke a reactor with two gunships trying to nuke you as well was a lot of fun.

One problem i had was that the gunships contineously steered INTO my plasma balls.

oooh, that must been hard on you... a hard psychological blow...

Well, I destroyed both gunships before I blew the core away. It's a wee bit tricky with the disguised time limit, but it's very manageable. All in all, high kudos to Valve for creating perhaps the best game ending since Grim Fandango.

Ravenholme had it's moments but I didn't think it was that hard. Those fast zombies were a pain but again it comes down to the problem that blights the whole game as far as difficulty goes - Hit damage to the player & the amount of Health lying around. You can take a good few (At least!) hits from those fast Zombies with no worries. The only really hard part was the ending where you & father whats-his-name get attacked by about 6 fast Zombies. Even that wasn't to hard because whats-his-name can take more hits than old freeman!!
