I'm running low on disk space on the drive that got steam installed...:x

I don't think it would require steam to play. My assumption is you can buy it retail like usual, or you can buy and play it on steam.

Though this is a guess, don't hold me to it as fact.

I think DM will require to be installed through steam even if you get the retail version. You may want to check the DM-forum on steampowered for more info (they are sure to have a thread about it).

The space-issue is starting to become a problem. Valve need to make steam abole to use more than one location for its games soon. Especially since DM is said to be about 10GB...
