I just got an nVidia 7900 GS, which at first I had only hooked up to a single monitor. I was able to play Dark Messiah Might and Magic at 1280x1024 resolution, and I also had the option to play at 1600x1200, which I haven't tried yet.

After I hooked up my second monitor and enabled nView, I no longer even see the option for the higher resolutions. All that is available to me for 4:3 aspect ration is 800x600 and 1024x768. If I switch to 16:9, I can select all the highest resolutions, but it displays on both monitors, which is nearly impossible to play on because its centered on the crack between them.

DM:MM is a Steam/Source powered game (for those who don't know), so hopefully someone else has had a similar issue with HL2 or another source game

Can you look which is set as your primary monitor? The first or the 2nd one you connected.

Also in what mode do you have both monitors setup? Dual View (Spans the monitors but each monitor is still treated individually) or horizontal span (treats it as 1 monitor)? I'm not familiar with Nvidia names in their control panel so those might not be listed.

I have my monitors setup as Dual View and when I use my LCD to display the game it only goes up to 1280x1024 and if I disconnect the LCD and just use my CRT screen then the options for 1600x1200 open up in the source menu for HL2.

Both my monitors are 19" LCDs, the primary is the one on the left, and is the first one I connected.

I didn't have them in Dualview, because apparently it wasn't an option until after I enabled nView, and I didn't see it until just now when I went back and checked to answer your question... so they were in horizontal span mode, but when I went into the game it turned off the 2nd monitor.

I just enabled Dualview, so I'll try that out.

On your LCD, is 1280x1024 the native resolution? That could be why it'll only let you go that high even when the CRT is connected.
