Dawn of War II - Blood Ravens Trailer

/snore

Dark Angels please. Blood Angels are so goddamn goody-two-shoes.

I also had no idea the Tyranids had been confirmed. I mean, the re-released trailer was kinda obvious, but I must of missed the annoucement.

EDIT: What the **** am I talking about - on closer inspection, there's a Tyranid even in the re-release trailer, haha! Not too sure how I forgot that one.

EDIT2: I'm digging myself a deeper hole here, I know, but I don't actually think I remember seeing that Tyranid rising up behind him at all. I seem to recall the space/clouds above and that's all. Meh, my bad. Crazy times.

That might be because there was two versions of the trailer. The first in which only clouds of spores are visible and the second version released about a month after which showed the battle against the nids as well.

Less pot, moar gaming :p

Yeah, I think I'm just forgetting what I already say really. I remember seeing the trailer when it came out, and I could swear it was the second trailer that showed the clouds, but then that begs the question ''how did the first one end, then?'' - basically, it's me being wrong and forgetfull, really.

I don't think I've ever heard of the Blood Ravens

They are a chapter that was created for the first DoW.

I was always under the impression they were a seperate Blood Angels strike force/battalion, but a quick Google/Wiki tells me they aren't. Huh. The more you know...

Are you kidding me?

All of the Chapters derived from the Blood Angels still suffer from the psychic imprint left by Sanguinius's death. This can cause them to go insane prior or during a battle, and they believe that they are Sanguinius himself during the Battle of Terra. The condition is irrecoverable (except for one case, where the victim was largely able to control it), and victims are locked away in the "Tower of the Lost" on the Blood Angels' homeworld until they finally die. This insanity is known as the Black Rage.

Rather than face a slow, insane death, Blood Angels will form those who have newly succumbed to the Black Rage into a special unit known as the Death Company. They paint their armour black, daubed with red crosses, signifying the wounds of Sanguinius, and are usually led by the few Chapter officers, notably Chaplains, who are able to communicate orders to these lost warriors. They are then sent out to perform the most dangerous assaults, hoping for a quick and honourable death in combat.

Also Sanguinus damaged Horus's armor during the Horus Heresy, allowing the Emperor to slay him and champion against the Gods of Chaos.

Aye, the Death Company are pretty badass, I'll give them that. They were always the end of my Imperial infantry when things got pretty close quaters.

(Note: me and my friends use to play the two armies against each other for fun purposes, knowing all too well it didn't make much sense. He collected them, I collected Imperial and there wasn't really anyone else to fight against, locally.)

But blood angels are goofy looking. They look like the male lead role in an x rated movie.

Edit : unless they are wearing their helmets of course.

Also Space marines fighting imperial armies is actually quite common in the lore.

Oops, the trailer is about Blood Ravens.

Ravens are a bunch of sissies.

The lore at the time was post-Third War for Armageddon, and the most recent Games Workshop magazine coverage of huge battle had Blood Angels fighting amongst Imperial Guard Cadian legions, so that was the lore we went by, but ignored for the sake of having some tabletop fights.

I'm not even going to attempt go delve into the rest of the lore as I wouldn't know where to begin searching for those kind of details. :P

Those are the Blood Ravens.

Dark Angels are too emo, though otherwise they look cool.

---------------------------------------------

DoW 2 has boss battles, weeee, yeah no not really, I don't wanna play WoW, no base building, a small couple of units during campaign (who also play like RPG characters and crap), other longer gameplay videos came across as slow paced and yawnsome, also, DoW isn 't CoH, it should never play like CoH....ever.

On another note it looks allot like a Blizzard game, the difference is they are already making an RPG and I don't play Relic games to grind up a character or grind down a boss.

And on another note I'm getting bored of the habit of rendering everything shiny and bloomy and crap, FFS, its why I play Source games, Valve are the only people who seem to realize shiny graphics good makes not.

Relic, while overall still good, are showing signs of getting lazy and complacent.

Also I want HW3, ****in' get on it Relic.

Also Space marines fighting imperial armies is actually quite common in the lore.

Always some heretical Imperial general or governor with aspirations of independence.

The Imperium probably spends as much time quelling the natural human desire for freedom and liberty as much as they do fighting xenos and Chaos.

In the darkness of the far future theres only evil and slightly less evil. :bounce:

But ultimately, the Imperium is a galaxy spanning extremely loose entity populated by the second most populous race in the fiction, so you can imagine, in the far reaches and isolated parts of the Emperors domain, disagreements can quite easily turn violent, even amongst "allies".

[/nerd] and I don't even play or collect GW's overpriced crap. :P

I personally always liked the story of the Black Templars.

All of the Chapters derived from the Blood Angels still suffer from the psychic imprint left by Sanguinius's death.

Not true, the Lamenters do not suffer from the Black Rage/Red Thurst. Though they are rather unlucky.

Anyway, as long as it isn't the ultrasmurfs taking centre stage I don't care.

Gameplay looks... different to DoW. I'm not sure how well it will work. But its relic, I shall have faith.

And if things go really well they might actually have net code which works propperly in this game!
