A small status update has been released about Day of Defeat: Source stating that the project is well under way and will even be released soon.[br]For the sceptics among us I'm sure you'll take that with a pinch of salt, but for those loyal to Valve's every word it'll be exciting news for you:
Work on Day of Defeat: Source is coming along very nicely. Beta testing is beginning soon, and the release is not too far away. We'll have more news on this soon.
This status update comes from Greg Coomer from Valve and was posted on the SteamPowered Forums.[br]The mention of "beta testing" is quite exciting, though at this stage it is likely to be an internal beta test only, however stay tuned for more information.[br]You can find Greg's original post in this thread, but also stay tuned for the weekly Steam update later on.

ooo DoD:S, canny wait, I was starting to think It was all a loverlly dream I had

Neat. Not a fan of dod but ill will check it out.

im a huge dod fan, this is something ive been very excited about for a long time. i cant wait.

It's about time. Geez. DoD should be priority #1, instead of new maps for CS:S.

Oh man, on the main menu bit of the board it said "Day of Defeat:Source Release..."

I was hoping it would say "Day of Defeat:Source Released!" :(

Ah well, great news none the less :p

god I've been waiting for this since the moment I finished HL2 ..when is "soon"? and why doesnt "soon" mean "now"? :E

We are talkig valve "soon" so just wait untill 2006 :p

Hopefully they also give those who purchased the Bronze/retail packages a way to upgrade to Silver/Gold too :S

Hmm, I think spring break/around march would be a good time to release it...more free time to play :)

A good beta-test map would be dod_avalanche. Avalanche in DoD is like dust in CS, so that'd be cool.

Mehopes mehopes mehopes

you did have the opportunity ..that's how I got silver. They wont offer it again because DoD is going to be stand alone

the people working on DoD are different to the people working on CSS...when are people gonna realise that...it's not all of Valve working on 1 thing and them moving on
