DC Universe Online

One of the most enjoyable trailers I've ever seen. Usually wouldn't be something I'm interested in but I'll keep an eye out for this now.

So I guess we don't get to play as Nikola Tesla until AC Online? When's that one comin' out?

Oh yeah purty CGI, super hero mmo blah blah.

It's an MMO so my interest is nonexistent but that trailer was amazing, Mark Hamill as the voice of the Joker is a stupendous thing.

Most amazingly awesome cinematic I have ever seen for a game.

If they spent the time to make the game even 1/10 of what this trailer was in terms if awesomeness, I'm gonna have a nerdgasm.

How is this MMO supposed to be exciting when everyone and their angsty 14 year old brother can play Batman?

Not fussed about the game (though no doubt I'll give it a shot anyway), but by god, that was one of the best cinematics I've watched ... ever!

Didn't find that trailer particularly exciting. Seems like basically every other poorly choreographed mega-epic-fight-scene CGI I've seen, but then I guess half the appeal is in fawning over the characters (and then... watching them all die at once).

How is this MMO supposed to be exciting when everyone and their angsty 14 year old brother can play Batman?
Probably not. MMOs based on existing properties tend to use the existing characters as NPCs so they can deliver story (probably in the form on quests) or occasionally help out the player. For example, WoW's last expansion was very heavy on major character intervention, with quests and dungeons that had you fighting alongside Thrall, Jaina, Sylvanas, Arthas (~time travel~) and others. Probably exciting for lore nerds, but I never really paid much attention since I don't feel like pouring through reams of text on thousands of quest screens...

Oh, and most of the time you can't even name your character after existing ones either - in Star Wars Galaxies names like Luke and Leia were permanently reserved (so I've heard) - of course that doesn't stop people using slight variations or spelling them out with umlauts and dumb shit like that.

I have no desire in playing a superhero mmorpg that contours to an already realized vision.

Groups like Marvel and others are dicks... and completely dictate what you can and cannot create.

I like the trailer other than Lex's power suit. Not really interested in the game though.
