Im thinking of upgrading my motherbard and CPU to Asus M3N-H and AMD Phenom Quad Core 2.5Ghz.

I dont have the funds for the faster DDR2 ram so can I still use my current PC3200 DDR ram?

No, unless your motherboard supports both DDR & DDR2 RAM. DDR RAM will not fit into a DDR2 slot & vice versa.

DDR = 184Pin
DDR2 = 240Pin

Thanks MRG, looks like im buying DDR2 RAM then. Ive got around ?60 for some decent ram, any ideas?

RAM is cheap as chips (bad pun, I know) so just go for a brand you can trust like Corsair or Kingston.

I highly advise you to buy RAM that has Heat Spreaders. The RAM you linked to, does not. DDR2-667 would work great for you & it's not that expensive. If you plan to overclock, you might want to buy DDR2-800, so that you have a little headroom to work with.

Remember: Heat is a computers #1 enemy.

heat spreaders aren't needed unless you plan to overclock.

HA who am i kidding, they look badass even if you don't overclock.

Most memory that come with heatsinks just have them purely for looks and it actually makes them run hotter with the kind of sinks/grease they use.
You would need to be putting a lot of voltage through the chips to need a heatsink tbh (extreme OCing).
