I'm soon to purchase a graphics card with DDR3 memory, and I was just wondering whether the motherboard has to support DDR3 memory in order to make use of the card. My motherboard, Asus P5K SE only supports DDR2, will this apply to the graphics card as well?

The motherboard DDR2 spec refers to the system memory only, so yeah you'll be fine.

This is because the memory on a graphics card is for the graphics chipset only, it is not coodinated by the motherboard as is system memory.

The graphics memory (GDDR3) is unrelated to system DDR3
