De-fanged California game bill becomes law

Er.. what exactly is the issue here? Can someone link to an article (can't find anything usefull on google)

Huh? Matt click on the flame face bud.
Anyways I dont see why this is something to fuse over, since mature games are labeled for 17 and up....

Its just a few signs they will be posting. So what?

Did you know that in the state of New York it is illegal to break the law, according to the law? So until that gets added in California too, its not against the law to break the law. Gotto apply it to all cases, no?

So before this law...mature games were not to be sold to children? and now after the law, mature games are not to be sold to children?

I see why you're mad, I know I would be if this happened where I live.

Ya, that truly sounds like a horribly unfair law. How dare they make them print brochures. What dastardly thing will the oppressive California government do next?

:dozey: Awww poor lil Billy has a soccer mom who won't buy M rated games for him. STEAL EM FOR NOW ON! I don't really mind or care, throw what you've got at us! I will still get my violent games!

this is a good thing, less kids ****ing up my online gaming, fantastic. (no offense to the intelectual/mature under-aged, but even they have to realize that they are the minority in their age group)

then again its not just kids, its merely people with low intelect/immaturity.

The reason he must be mad is because he is under the age of 17 (just a guess from your reaction).

Lots of game retailers don't give a crap if you're of age...but now it seems they will be cracking down on it more...so the stores that didn't give a crap before might now with this fine and jail time possibility.

It seems fair to me, and hardly something to cry about. Young children shouldn't even be playing M rated games in the first place, especially games that really earned that rating, for example Doom 3, Silent Hill or GTA.

o_O This seems like a good idea actually.

The brochures are helpful to parents and people new to gaming to help guide them.
