de_rats problem...plz help!

can someone please tell why everytime i join a server that has de_rats as the map i get dodgy looking purple and black textures?

is it an official map?

please help me solve the problem

rats is most definatly NOT an official map. Not sure about the weird textures though, can you post a screenshot? (f5, and it will be in your hl folder)

Make sure you have downloaded the map from the net, not thru Steam. Steam doesn't always download evey texture file. Also, make sure you get the CS:S version of de_rats, not the original CS version.

Yeah finally a res file was added to have it download extra content, but not all servers are using it yet.

To KozMic ... you've just got an answer from a very good source: Romeo is being very quiet about the fact he made the de_rats map for CS:S It's great map btw! (no, I am not sucking up)
