Based on Tecmo’s best-selling Dead or Alive videogame franchise, the script has been written by J.F. Lawton (Under Siege, Pretty Woman), Adam & Seth Gross (Devour), and Granz Henman (Knallharte Jungs). Jeremy Bolt and Paul W.S. Anderson, founding partners of Impact Pictures are producing with Robert Kulzer, Head of Production at Constantin in Los Angeles, Bernd Eichinger of Constantin, and Mark Altman of Mindfire Entertainment. Andreas Schmid, Andreas Grosch, Steve Chasman of Current Entertainment and Dan Kletzky of Entertainment Licensing are executive producers. Summit Entertainment is handling international sales and distribution.

wow, well, we saw how good the Street Fighter movie was, I expect more of the same, since its hard to get worse than Street Fighter The Movie

It better be rated NC-17. Seriously, how do you make a movie of this? And look at the female cast! Jaime Pressly, Devon Aoki, Sarah Carter, Natassia Malthe, and Holly Valance. Exactly who are these people supposed to be playing? I can only assume Devon will be Ayane, and Natassia is possibly Kasumi...one of those girls is probably Tina. Jaime Pressly though? Come on. And not a single one of them is...how shall we say..."character accurate."

Why do movies like this get made? I mean honestly, why? I can't fathom it. I don't even LIKE Dead or Alive, it's purely a "so-so" fighter in my opinion, with some flash and bounce, like a poor man's Virtua Fighter (or even Tekken, for that matter), but I still don't want to see it get the bad "video-game to movie" treatment.

Also, side comment, Icarus doesn't understand genius. Mortal Kombat was the only movie that could possibly have taken a cheesy game premise and turned it into a not-so-cheesy movie. But the second one...I'll stop now, let's not even mention it.

Yeah, how Dead or Alive ever got the greenlight may just be one of the greatest mysteries in the universe

Oh I sure do understand genius, you ever see Versus? That movie was genius, MK was not

and my guess is this'll be rated PG-13, with no boobies showing, and it will be a travesty for gamers everywhere... cause we want boobies, dammit

Versus IS genius. Plot? We don't need no stinkin' plot! Zombies, over-the-top action sequences, and shit blowin' up! The genius is that every scene is exponentially more action-packed than the previous one, so it never gets old despite the fact that the story's not really progressing.
