Dead Space 2 Debut Trailer

Damn you beat me to it. Isaac's voice doesn't sound like I expected, but this is awesome.

Isaacs voice? What leads you to believe any of those voices are his? Could be anybody

Didn't play the first. Was it really that great? I didn't care for the demo..

And yes, my birthday is really 1929, Gametrailers.

Interesting trailer, looks like his suite has been upgrade on the aesthetics side, or the helmet at least. First was immense, and I'm hoping this will be too.

Cool, a teaser. ****ing hate these things... at least the new helmet is kinda cool.

It was Resident Evil 4 on a spaceship, but creepier and more well done in most ways. The formula did get kind of old (although the dismemberment never loses it's appeal), and the last third or so dragged on, but I was glad I finished it. Your mileage may vary though, a lot of people seemed to really hate it for some reason.

Tip if you do play: stick to 2 or 3 weapons and upgrade them thoroughly. Any more than that is pretty pointless, and you'll only ever see ammo drop for the guns you're actually holding, so too many and you'll overload your inventory. The "pistol" thing you start with is pretty much a necessity, besides that the only really useless one was the flamethrower from memory.

Also, if you enjoy a challenge, skip directly to hard mode. Normal is somewhat difficult now and then, but it really showers you in health and ammo. I can't even imagine how much of a cakewalk easy is.

I only played it once. Got bored towards the end. Gameplay never really changed. Target limbs - repeat. So yeh, resi4 in space but not as good as Resi4.

Played the first one for about 20 mins then put it down.

Also this trailer looks like leftovers from Dante.

Probably, but it just seems more like Isaac than anyone.

"blah blah but the things in my head. The shit in my head. I can hear the symbols whisper." Followed up by Nicole whispering creepy shit to Isaac.

I'm surprised there's even any controversy over the possibility of him having a voice. A character not having a voice isn't a good thing, it's just better than bad voice acting. If it was good voice acting, it would be better than none. Hence the proven Formula for Voice Acting:

Good > None > Bad

I don't see why people are moaning about it as if the silent protagonist was an essential feature when they haven't even heard the quality of the audio work. Only time I think no voice acting is the best option is in first person shooters.

On a side note, most of all I wish all gaming media sites would allow you to disable comments on articles so I wouldn't even have to know people thought this ****shit. I try not to look but I'm curious every damn time.

Ho hum, from the trailer it sounds like there is going to be a plot twist about fusing Issac's DNA with that of the Necromorphs :|

Hope not.

i still need to finish the first. i enjoyed it, i just stopped playing for some reason

That, or he was probably put through a heap of bullshit after they found him insane and fatigued. F*cking shit if they pull a "No John you are the Necromorphs thing" though.

I think his voice is welcome. Will be nice to hear what he has to say when people tell him to "go fix this". Bitches gonna bitch though.

**** YES I am so pumped for this. The first was so good.

With the amount of polish they put into the game, I'm sure it'll be just fine. The voice actors for Dead Space were superb.

Edit: trailer translations are here. Warning MAJOR SPOILERS. Pretty much the biggest spoiler in the game.

Meh. I don't think Isaac was actually killed and brought back, rather his insanity caused by the Red Marker has left Nicole's voice constantly haunting him having them "reborn as one". The Konverge shit probably refers to the Red Marker's influence permanently burned into his conscience. The Key either refers to Isaac as the Key to everything, or the Black Marker. The last part about Altman possibly being behind everything makes no sense. He's been dead for 200 years.

I won't mind if Issac has a higher telepathic connection with the Necromorphs/Marker (it was kind of evident he might have in the first game) but I sure as hell don't want him being part human/part necromorph prophecy child.

I don't know how he would die or how they would get a sample of the necromorphs, but I was thinking that perhaps they found him dead and used the necromorph cells to bring him back to life, thus "reborn as one." It would kinda make sense with the scene where the marker is seen burning in Isaac's eyes.

i could never finish the 1st one I got stuck. also it helps to point out that my xbox doesn't really like reading disks and i feel no need to buy a whole new xbox until they're mad cheap

I can't wait, huge fan of the first, got all the comicbooks, played through and followed the internet meta-game from the day it launched.

Giving a voice to Isaac is a risk. They are altering the formula of the original game's success.

Isaac not having a voice was not part of the original game's success, it was just part of a successful game. If the game had been terrible people would've attributed the lack of voice to laziness. Adding a voice, so long as it is done well, can only be an improvement. Adding jetpacks is a new feature that could be classified as risky, though I think it sounds awesome.

Visceral really have a thing for babies...DS1, Dante's Inferno, DS2. Also, the Stalker looks f*cking awesome. I hope there are more necromorphed animals besides dogs.

I'm interested again now it has been re-announced for PC. I'm even going to pick up Dead Space Extraction and play it through on the kids Wii.

Neat.

I'm not sure I like the suit as much now I've seen it in-game. A bit too... spandexy.

Just beat the first...wonder how the story will go at this point. Probably going to pick up the book(s) too, been addicted to the whole vidyagaem novels thing as of late.

Pick up the comicbook(s) but also get and download the anicomics made based off'em.

Yes there is a comic compilation in hardcover worth considering. A novel is set for release this July.

A novel!? The fudge, how could I miss that!? You got a link?

Why would you want to hit your game?

Wouldn't that risk breaking it?
