so who here is entering the Half life 2 Death match map contest? i was wondering cause i suck and iff all u pros have time to make some (which i know you do) then i might think twice about entering . but im goona make a map enyways cause i would like to see if i have skilz enough yet to even bother entering.. so here lets talk about contest stuff and i wana know how meny ppl are goona enter...good luck! :cheers:

Someone should introduce you to the JPEG format. It allows you to have large pictures that aren't the best part of a megabyte in filesize.

I have started planning for my map. I will start production on Friday. I have a lot to do though. I hope the time we get is like 1 month. I havn't checked the details yet.

yeah definately, ive been working on a map in hammer for a few weeks now based off a condominium. going to try and use some displacement maps to make an underground cave in the same map too, not sure how that will turn out, but we'll see hehe.

OMFG thats where I remember your name from... its been driving me crazy... I never did any mapping for RvS, but I played it lots, but wasnt very active with the platoon forum. Thank god, your name was keeping me awake at night trying to remember!(No, not really, more like 30 seconds, but oh well )

I'm well aware of jpgs. pngs are better quality though. Resave it as a jpg (uncompressed), then take a small cut from my png and compare it to the same section on the jpg...you'll see the difference.

Well, I have my second problem now (got Hammer to start correcly) but my map is getting, well, big. I hate doing outdoor parts because they always endup being like a square mile...
