Deathmatch server error

When trying to connect to a Hl2 deathmatch server i get an error that says "[TEMP] Version does not match the servers. Please restart game." Well I restart the game and the same error comes up. This just started happening today and deathmatch mode has worked before this. I even have tried restarting steam a few times. Any Ideas?

dam nobody has any ideas.? Where is the computer tech guru?Dammit steam i would bet my money that steam messed this up.

Open Steam-> Play Games and right click on HL2 DM. Select Properties (I think that's what is is...I'm going from memory here).

Under there is a pull down, make sure yours says "Automatically download updates to this program".


Around the time you posted, a new version of HL2 DM came out. You either: A) Are not automatically updating and you tried to join a server that was already updated OR B) You automatically update and you tried to join a server that has not been updated yet.

If it was B) then try another server until they update.
