Looks brilliant. I have been waiting a LOOOOOONG time for this one. Monkey Island meets Diablo?? A funny action-RPG-adventure?? Sign. Me. Up.

Charming. Intelligent. Enigmatic. These are just a few words that nobody ever uses when describing DeathSpank.

Developed by indie game developer and publisher Hothead Games and created by Ron Gilbert of LucasArts adventure game fame, DeathSpank will bring to life the hilarious adventures of the game's titular hero. Set on a wrap-around world map with a unique art style utilizing 2D elements in a 3D world, DeathSpank will roam the world on his many varied quests without ever encountering a load screen.

That looks completely amazing. Seriously, holy shit.

The art is really cool, but that gameplay looks really, really generic.

Hey man, its a teaser after all. We haven't even begun to see the whole adventure side of the gameplay, so relax. I am confident that Ron and Co. will be able to put together something absolutely astounding and fun.

looks like a mix of Medievil and Hercules (topdown one - herc's adventures) from PSone - hopefully it's for PC

forgot to say, it looks awesome

That really does look awesome. Any word on whether it will be PC only, or will it have console releases?

Well, given that Hothead's Penny-Arcade episodes made their way to Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, PC, Mac, and even Linux, those seem like the best guesses, but the company line is, "We're developing it for multiple platforms, but none are official yet."

(The above is from 1up's coverage of it all this week.)

The landspaces remind me of Paper Mario, and I really like that. Color me EXCITED

I love the visuals, but I hate top down hack and slash Rpg's. Hope that's what this isn't.

Yeah, I got the same feeling, but we really don't have enough to make such a judgement as of yet.

Hey, Diablo 2 was generic, and that's awesome as ****, I still play D2.

Yeah, I have been watching this for a LONG time. I have a huge amount of respect for Ron and his creative juices so finally getting to ingest them (so to speak) is something I am REALLY looking forward to. Still weird this has not be mentioned for PC yet though....
