Dedicated server with router?

My computer is connected to the internet through a router. When I create a dedicated server, it won't allow anyone else to join except for me. It uses my internal IP address as the server's IP.

Is there any way to run a dedicated server when you're connected to a router?

its actually not that difficult. First you go to www.whatismyip.com and find out your outgoing IP. Then, go into your routers software and have it forward anybodoy connecting to your exported IP:27015 or anybody attempting to connect to that IP via that port will be forwarded to your dedicated server internal port. It sounds complicated, but in all honesty its not. Just takes some patience.
