Some of you have surely heard about this title, right? It sounds amazingly fun and addictive! I just love the fact that these guys are making a game that could be thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable and one of the best party/work games ever without having to have a huge budget and worrying about the latest in graphics tech. They are going back to the roots of what makes games fun and this one looks like it fits the bill and then some! I can't wait to get it!

If you haven't heard of it, here is a brief intro:
What is it? It's That Bit In Wargames, You Know After The Machine Plays Tic-Tac-Toe With Itself When Old-Skool Graphics Of Nuclear Armageddon Flash Forth And Phrases Like Turkish Thrust Are Emblazoned Across The Screen And The World Ends One Hundred Times A Second Until The Computer Realises That War Is Bad And No-one Can Win But Hell! At Least It Looks Good, Oh Yeah, That Bit... but a game.

Essentially, it's a real-time tactical game charting a nuclear falling out between the world's superpowers, a multiplayer game with a multibillion death-count. Silos sit waiting, either able to discharge their missiles or act as anti-missile fire... but not simultaneously, with a delay between switching between one sort and another. Submarines inch closer to an unsuspecting coastline, cutting down the reaction time for the opposing, arrogant superpower to react. Fleets circle the surface, sonar trying to locate subs for depth charges. And in the end, megadeath, nuclear armadgeddon.

In Nuclear War, no-one wins. But maybe - just maybe - you can lose the least.

Great interview found here.

introversion are my heroes.. they're ****ing awesome making games like these in the world of crappy graphic-fetischist games.

I cannot wait for this game, and have been excited about it ever since I read the preview in PCG UK a few months ago. I hope they release it through Steam like Darwinia because it will be nigh on impossible to find in shops.

This game looks fantastic.

I plan to fashion a Dr Strangeglove-style bomb shelter out of sofa cushions, and play the game inside, cackling maniacally.

*pushes red button*
MWAHAHAHA

I really enjoyed Uplink actually, Darwinia was good too but I loved Uplink.:p

Is it really worth 20 pounds? I'm hoping they release it over Steam a la Darwinia.

That seems a bit over the top, 15 seems more appropriate.

It's 20 on the Introvision website.

TBH I haven't checked elsewhere.

I hope it's going to be on Steam! :D

Then it most likely will be bought by a lot more :)

For example, if Darwinia never would have been on Steam, I never would have bought it.

Let's hope that Defcon turns out better than SuperPower did.

theres allready a game like this, "global domination" I think its called... but still :D

I hope it comes to steam as I'd be interesting in playing it. I did not like uplink though, too slow and methodical for my add mind.

Dammit, these guys can do no wrong. I'm spending far too much on games lately.

Woah this sounds awesome
