When the real CS:S comes out (not the beta) is there a way to delete CS:S beta from steam?? Thanks.

There will probably be an update which removes the CS:S content

There is always a way to delete a game from Steam. But I think Steam will be doing that itself with the final update. Or something like that :)

We'll wait and see.

or... it will use the same GCFs... the maps and stuff are in there.

logg on to steam,
hit play games,
the box that shows all the games you have ,
highlight cs source and right click,
click properties,
hit delete local game content.
its as easy as that...... good luck

you can also do this with any of the games you have on steam.

I'm almost certain the current game data is used for the full version. Last update it added all the new maps, though they are locked.

I don't think you need to delete anything for the retail release of CS:S. Almost the whole retail version has already been preloaded, all we need is to purchase HL2, unlock CS:S and probably download some executables and library-files.

:) Yeah. That's how VALVe plan on making money this year.
(a joke, no rudeness)

i hope us beta testers get CS: Source free next week, even though im buying the game :D

I actually don't mind "donating" money to Valve. They deserve it for making so much fun for us in the future.

nope the Beta turns into the Full version, its already happening my Beta has all the maps, It just only will let me play Dust2 until I buy it next week

if you look into your steam folder you will notice that you have conterstrike source gcf and under steam apps you have a folder for cstrike source beta. Now if you delete all the local cstrike beta off of you pc the way I mentioned before what it will basically do is erase your cstrike source beta folder with dust map, your configs, screenshots and so on. The gcf files for cs source are totally different then the folder which says cstrikesource beta. Once the game is available, a new folder will be made called cstrike source (without the beta).

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\_yourname_

if you look under this address in your set up you wil see all the games you have, condition zero, cstrike source beta, counter strike. That is where the new folder will be added. The cssbeta folder isn't going to be magically transformed. But if you want to erase all your local beta files this is the folder that will be erased. Hop3 that mak3s s3ns3.

It did, except for that last sentence :)

Do you think there will be a way to play the beta after it's locked through Steam? I have some kind of weird obsession with playing beta-versions of games when I already have the full version :)

Well, you could always download the cracked version....I think that works offline.

You will just have to wait and see.

Don't you get CS:S with the gold package? So why buy it twice?
