This thing sounds like a monster. Too bad it will probably be the same price as a nice car. ;(
The computer will run four GeForce 7800 GPUs, two more than the maximum allowed in the standard XPS 600. In tests, the rig and its Intel Pentium processor Extreme Edition 955 was factory over-clocked at 4.2GHz, making it one of the (if not the) fastest computers on the marke

It has 4 7800GTX 512MB's :O (dual GB cards)
Thats like amazing power. A bit over kill but it'd own any game.
Bet this will cost a bomb when its released.

1) The cpu is still slowing down 4 GPU's a top of the line Athlon 64 is needed to meet for 2 GPU's.
So basically they are technically ripping you off as 4 GPU's is more than unneeded. Dell should have gone with AMD. Go overclock the dual cores the new FX-60, that will breed some speed.

I remember seeing a review in which the SLI intel system performed the same as the single GFX card in the Athlon 64. I thought it was funny. They tested both single and SLI configurations on both FYI.

who the hell needs 4 top of the line gfx cards..not to mention this will probably be a >5k PC if it comes out

Probably people who's native LCD resolution is 1920x1440. :E Mine is 1680x1050 and I need a 7800GT to at least run about 40fps with no AA.

lol ^_^ I guess intel does need 4 to match AMD.
Now just imagine a Fx-60 with 4 7800GTX 512megs...now that would make me cry in happiness..***nning Oblivion with extremely high frame rates with everyone highest...while having a big process going on in the background(Thank you Dual Cores)......
Would almost make me forget the price...

probably get similar results with just 2 7800gtx 512's...

Well, unless you're richer than god. Then you'd already have forgotten.

Heh. 2 whole GIGs of video ram. Dell, sechs me up.

This looks like its gonna be the only Dell worth buying. That is if your rich.

Case is lame... Not interested.

lol. Whatever, they can stack as many gpus and cpus they want into these... its not going make them sell a lot.

Lmao, i like the quote "quad sli - taking things to the next level", personally i think "quad sli - taking things a touch too far" would be more appropriate...

I can see this computer overheating like a beast. Just like every other Dell :P
Probably why they drew silly flames all over it.

Marketing Scheme. Video ram does not add up, because the same thing must be known in each card.
Anyway, I'll build my own for cheaper...except of course if they decide to sell it for $500 or less!

It doesn't have 4 7800GTX 512MB cards (total of 2 gigs). It's 2 7800GTX 512MB cards (total of 1 gig), the big thing is that each has 2 GPUs.

A normal 7800GTX 512MB card sells for like $750 USD. Now, one with 2 GPUs? Maybe $900+ to $1000 for the single card...

You guys do realize that 4 512meg 7800GTX's do not add up in Video Memory. It was why 2 6800's with 256megs of memory do not have the Video Memory for Doom 3 100% highest because it requires 512megs.
Information in all the graphics cards is the same, really your only going to have 512megs(If it's a 7800GTX 512). You will not have 2gigs, they will not be able to hold 2gigs of Video Memory. Marketing. Nothing more than Marketing.

I know this is completely off subject, but I can run Doom 3 on Ultra just fine on my 256mb GTX.

The only computer worth buying from Dell is not possible to buy for most. Have you guys ever seen the ratings for the Dell site? It's like 2/5 stars.
I am not sure who they are expecting to buy this kind of thing, I am sure anyone with that kind of money would just hire a pro.

Heh, shame about the intel processor.

Yes only a proc that has been factory clocked at 4.2ghz, 1066MHz FSB, 64-bit capabilities (much like your precious amd chips) featuring two separate cores with 2MB L2 cache each for a total of 4MB. That is indeed, power. Intel is no longer lagging behind AMD they have a full set of powerful new chips and boards comeing your way that will.. blow everything we have seen so far away. I currently run an amd dual core so i'm not thrashing AMD, just saying they both hold a certain amount of credibility and future proofing.

I could have sworn that I saw on that site a couple of ads for the cards at not more than $400 each. I also remember thinking, "that doesn't sound right". The other issue was driver support: this is nowhere near ready for Dell-caliber consumers at this point in time.

Ya..too bad it will cost over $10000 with everything upgraded to the max and all the good software...time to win the lottery.

Yeah, but wouldn't 32xAA be rather boner inducing?

Its a shame that WindowsXP will slow it down and poorly optimized games will run at the same speed as the sucker who has a 9550

Haha, no worries, I was more slating the fact that Dell exclusively uses intel chips.

Regardless though, the current generation of AMD dualies give better frames than intel.

What you can tell the massive jaggies at 1600x1200 resolution? I mean those jaggies are so massive you need 32xAA........

O_O!!!!!!! JESUS - i think i'll sell my house ... and car... and buy one :D

Lmao !!! Gotta agree with Minerel on this one. At 1600 x 1200, 4 x AA is enough to completely remove any jaggies, smooth as silk, therefore you have to wonder the point in 32 x AA..... even greater performance hit with next to no image improvement anyone ?
