Dell sells out of $10,000 PC

A $10.000 PC is beyond abnormal for any hard core gamer.

There will always be a demand for power and who are we to keep it from the people who can afford it? I would buy one of those systems if I had that much money to spare.

In other news Fujitsu creates a 1.3 petabyte (1.36 million gigabytes) storage array!

http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=1935

* World's largest storage capacity (over 1 petabyte)
* World's highest storage performance from up to sixteen 3.6GHz dual processors per system
* RAID6 (double parity) support. Enhanced reliability even if simultaneous HDD failures occur
* Disk to Disk backup using Nearline FC disk drives
* Multi-functional backup options with OPC, QuickOPC & SnapOPC
* Cost-effective disaster recovery solutions using iSCSI
* Data encryption for online and offline information security

Also any way we could get images turned on in the hardware forum? I have occasionally wanted to post pics of hardware but I was never able to. If there is a good reason why there is no images then thats ok but I have always wondered why they was disabled.

OC'ed Intel Extreme Edition at 4.26 Ghz?
Quad 7900 GTX 512 MB?

God damn.

I find it funny that they're using Intel. It's like putting a Volvo engine in an F1 racer.

It's a pretty good computer, not worth 10 grand though. Just goes to show that for some PC gamers money isn't really a problem.

Id imagine a 4.26Ghz dual core intel would beat the crap outta any stock amd...

"Daddy daddy, I want to play Doom on this thing my friend's call a pee-cee!"

"Sure, honey. Pick one out and-"

"That one, daddy! That one!"

Sweet jesus. Even the most hardcore of gamers doesnt need to spend 10,000 on a pc. Just make it yourself and save about...uh I dunno 7 thousand dollars? Hmm.

Jeez....who would buy a $10,000 computer???? Omg! I swear...just the things people waste money on.. If you built it yourself you would save well over half the price of that computer.

Fact is, I'm willing to bet LOTS of money that the most expensive Athlon 64 outstrips that proc by a good bit. Particularly with Intel chips' glaring inefficiencies.

They didn't say how many they made. Maybey they only made 5, and it still took 3 days to sell them.

Whoever buys that computer should get a good roundhouse kick in the head by Chuck Norris.

Id buy that if i had the money without a thought for that matter. Deff worth it.

Fantastic computer, eenough to orgasm over, but 10k? hell no

Having the Dell name on it makes it somehow worth more than the sum of its parts? I thought it was the other way around...

First of all of you do the math your not saving that much by building it yourself. Not with those parts. How many people would risk building a pc like that with the right cooling everything? Another thing my 1st pc was a dell. I payed 400$ for a 4 year warranty. Its still going and i call them up ya one of my parts broke THE NEXT DAY its at my house. Not only that they pay shipping BOTH ways. NOT ONLY that they come and pick up the broken part from my house. Thats not worth the extra money? Let alone them building you a perfectly built pc in everyway possible?

Custom paint job....autographs,im sure that rig was full of useless junk. And whoever bought it is still gonna feel like a douche when the next gen stuff comes out like dx10 cards lol

That's because the AMD's are at their stock speeds. Overclock them and they fly! :D

That PC is in NO way worth that much money. Maybe worth 5000 at the MOST. Some people are stupid.
The case looks like crap as well. :x

my dad isnt gamer but his Mac is worth like 20k
if it was a Windows PC I would be all over that thing:D

People will be building monster computers just as good for half the price by the end of the year.

Or is Michael Dell's autograph on a computer too cool to pass up?
