.dem ----> .avi

Hi I'm tyring to find out how to convert a .dem to an avi file. I know it's possible I just can't figure it out. I know a .dem is not a media file, but I hear it's just like a command file that tells it what to play. Like a bunch of TGAs in a slide show or something. Well anyways could someone help me convert it to a more compatible video format? Thanks in advance.

.dem is not a video file or a series of tga's lol.

It's a series of instructions that the HL2 engine uses to reconstruct a scene based on those recorded series of events.

You can convert the .dem file into a picture sequence of tgas, or jpgs or something.

Then you bring that sequence into a program like Adobe Premiere and export it as an avi.

I don't know the commands for CS:S but that's the logic behind it.
