it inspired me so much. I just had to start building my own scene, dont know how it will turn out, long way to go. (doing the maps will be fun :naughty: ), but i wanted to make a good enough model and try to improvise to fill in what you cant see, so I can get renders from other angles. ;)

like I said im a student and im still learning character modelling skills for humans, i wouldnt like to start until im perfectly comfortable in knowing i can make you a quality group of concept models. :)
 
more added, + train bridge + support, + tower in background complete. and a few tweaks
to set the scale correctly

lol, the back was a bit out of propaution and it was bugging me, so I tweaked it again, and what the heck ill post it anyway, ;)

the forground building is finished and some pipeline has been added, and more tweaking

It's certainly looking good. I'll reserve judgement until its finished though to be fair :)
 
not till actually doing this, did I actually appreciate how much detail has actually gone down just in the modelling. :thumbs:

still a few bits and bobs to put in there, background stuff, and scaffolds and planks... then the texturing, :O . Im going to customise them, to a certain extent,, :bounce:

for anyone who wants it as a reference. (lol it would be a bit suspicious if id copied it exactley. ;) , :hmph: I think im making excuses)
 
It buggs me when I see something totally out of propaution , its too obvious that the main depot building is too tall, so I corrected it. :)
 
Looking really good, I remember when tim was going to do the jail, ah teh memories.

I can't wait to see it textured.
 
Theres still the scaffolding on the left in the screenshot and then the chain thing thats leading to the seafloor, also a small mast on the small building and a block on the "balcony" on the main building is missing. Otherwise it's a damn good model :)
 
Theres still the block thing on the blue building. Otherwise i can't see any other differances.
 
ill put that in,, then ill post a few pics to show you how the maps are going, , til its finished,.. in about 2 -3 days, so in the mean time ill leave you with this render I did, with a sunset going on outside left of screen, and glass and reflections galore. lol, I did it for experimentation purposes..( :( I want a Photon mapping add on , so I can use in place of light tracers. :( ..)
 
how nice as it may seem, but will you texture it also ? :)
 
theres no point, the scene was built for testing lighting effects,. but the floor is textured, :D , (you dont mean the depot pic do you?, cause yeh I will be texturing that)
 
Its looking so ****ing good. VERY VERY VERY GOOD WORK! its better than valve :D
