The majority of this movie is about Hitler's last days giving an unbiased view about how his world was falling apart. I really enjoyed it all the actors are amazing and it really gets you into that nazi atmosphere. Especially when Hitler is on one of his screaming rampages you feel like you partook in it. Or when the Hitler youth fights on with blazing nationalism.

I wish schools would show movies like these to show that to every war there are two sides, and no im not a nazi. It is a really interesting movie and pulls on everything during the last days from family to the semi anarchy.

When i first watched it i was kind of mad i thought it was gona be one of those chick memoir flicks and heavy bash hitler but it turned out to be totally opposite. I was amazed at the fanaticism though hitlers followers showd him in their course of actions.

Anyone else seen this? Enjoy it?

I've got that. Pretty good film, really depressing when Goebbels wife
offs the children
.

The guy playing Hitler did it really well. Also it had this real apocalyptic atmosphere to it that really did it well.

yup, it was a great film,as sparta mentioned its a sad/sicj moment when Mrs Goebbles executes her children.

great film, ganz(is that his name, the guy who played hitler) was amazing, never did he fall into charicuture status, you believed he was Hitler, amazing portrayal, sadly i didnt see the ending, i only saw up the part where the staff flee the city dressed in Wehrmacht uniforms, you know the secretary and stuff(she was fine!), someone tell me what happened pls?

ya that was sad but i think it was good thinking somewhat Marie Antoinette anyone, her hubsand the quasi chancellor after hitlers death, look so ****ing scary like the real life gman.

spoiler:

she gets away safely and the young boy who was in the hitler youth (Peter) holds her hand as she walks away and they both escape

Amazing film, one of my favourites.

Saw it in the theater and loved it! That Bruno Ganz can really act! An amazing portrayal and a moving film. Its always interesting to get a view of history from the other side of the conflict. Its not always as black/white as people make it out to be.

Well dont forget the man did kill millions of people theres no ignoring that what so ever.

Truly excellent film.

Spoiler:

The bit that really got me was when the Hitler Youth manning the 88 run out of ammo and the guy shoots the girl before committing suicide.

Brilliant movie.

With those actors it really makes you think why Julia Roberts/Nicole Kidman or Tom Cruise etc... get $50 million per movie.

Well, there hasn't been any concrete evidence yet that states that he actually ordered the execution of so many, but he and Himmler in particular did play a vital role in the "purification" of the Fatherland. All I am saying is that it is refreshing to see the more human aspects of his personality. He wasn't all demon--he was kind to his secretary and his dog and his people (sort of). He was human, just like you or me, and it was nice to see that instead of all-hate-all-the-time.

Yes definately I see where you are coming from sadly I think as timemoves on and WW2 history becomes less prevalent in society Hitler will be known just as that with no reconciliation whatsoever to personality.

If I were all those German army officers outside of the room when Hitler was talking sh*t about them, I would go medieval on him. :P

Fantastic film, Although I did find the man with the worst job in the world quite funny (i.e. the radio operator in the bunker).

And all those StG-44s! Fantastic.

I saw it on video and this scene made me do a double take. When the boy shoots himself in the head there is no effect whatsoever. Just a sound effect and he falls down. The gun doesn't buck or flash and there is no blood even though you can clearly see where the bullet should have gone.

Could you put a spoiler warning or something above that?

i think it might have been to do with its rating for audiences, no goriness means a lower rating, the makers probably wanted as many people to see it as possible, also they are kids aswell shooting themselves, adding blood might have been a bit too much...

But then later an officer shoots himself in the mouth, and brain substance is spread across the wall behind him. I think that counts as gorier than some blood coming out of someone's head.

the kid probably used a gun with a lower caliber that didnt go through his head.

or maybe its the fact that blood spray from a teen was more offensive than adult men.

hes just misunderstood obviously...
