Too bad it was a shareware version, so no smart missiles for me

I liked it back then (but was really young and didn't get very far). Played again a year or two ago... still pretty fun. I never actually played multiplayer though.

I happened to find a "freeware" version. I'm not sure if it's legitimately a "freeware" version. So if you want it, pm me.

I lost the original cd so many years ago...

I'd imagine that mp over himachi would be quite fun.

I've got Descent III here, and honestly the third level (I think) was even too hard for me. Bummer, I wanted to play it through but I couldn't even find the switch I was supposed to throw.

Talking of shareware, did anybody ever play Terminal Velocity. I so wanted to buy the full game but I couldn't find it in any shops

Yeah, I played Terminal Velocity. Great game. I only played the shareware too, but Fury 3 was basically Terminal Velocity with different levels...MS bought out the rights and made Fury 3. Hellbender is the sequel to Fury 3 also.
Now Earthsiege 2...THAT was a game...as was Terra Nova...and Privateer 2...ahh...

I had the shareware of Descent for PC, but my PC was garbage, so ...

Eventually, I had the PS1 version. It was pretty cool. My brother really liked it.

I wouldn't mind playing it again for a few, just for old times sake.

I think i got decent III with my radeo 9600 a long time ago. I thought it would be crap since it was free, but one day I decided to install it and I was like "ZOMG"

I wish i hadnt lost the cd... (hint hint)

Also, are the decent and freespace games related?

The full title is Descent:Freespace, and there was a cheat in freespace 1 for descent style physics.

I believe I still have the Descent: Freespace cd at home, but it has this little thing saying it's meant to work with only a certain graphics card? (probably came free with it). So I never bothered trying to install it. Think it will work?

I think I was stuck on Level 12 of Descent I. It was just too difficult....
The levels just kept getting more and more insane.

I'd try it, but you might need some sort of patch for it to work if XP if thats what your using.

Im so confused right now. Is game Descent and the game Freespace two different games or the same one? If its the same then how come people keep saying Freespace 2, and then also Decent 2?

They are completely different, although both have to do with space.
