DESKTOP problem

Im having this problem with desktop. When i start up my pc all my icons are missing and i cant acess anything whats up with my PC. And once i shut down they show up for a split second then shuts down. Please help.

Try entering safe mode and see if the icons show up then. If they do sanc for viruses,spyware,adware etc.

Yes i just went too safe mode and restored it it worked thanks FIL .
