Desura Releases Linux Client In Closed Beta

Desura, a Steam-like program that I probably have heard of before and have never used released a Linux client a few weeks ago in a closed beta. I heard about this via a blog on Planet Ubuntu. Although I currently only use Linux for my laptop and more productive stuff, this could be a good move for the industry. I hope this encourages Valve to take a second look at releasing a Linux client or to put more effort into creating one. If you use Desura and would like a beta invite, join the Desura Group. I'd use it if a decent catalogue of mods were actually supported. Can they not just move the mods on moddb onto the Desura system without asking the mod makers? I suppose they can't.
