It's really too much to just copy and paste so take a look. Basically a chat with good ol' SourceX and another guy, and SourceX talks about what he grabbed from Valve. Take it with a grain (hell, a bucket) of salt.

Worth taking a look at, I guess. The HL2 SCRP ( http://gtwy.hl2arena.com/ ) has been fairly up to date and not too prone to rumours.
 
Half Life 2 will be released Holidays 2003, unless officially announced otherwise.
 
What an ass. For anyone to get in the way of this is stupid and will kick em in the ass.
 
I find it funny how he (the "reporter", and most other folks) believe that anyone who has the 'beta or whatever you will call it' would be so careless about it in a public forum/irc chat. I think you are all being lead on by a few people who want attention.

Even if it is real, how does the guy get access to these so called private channels and aim/msn logs... Again, most likely he is a pawn to give these people fame.

What do you all have against this guy? The original point of his website was to help VALVe out by finding out whatever information he could, so he started up the page just for himself and his friends. It was other people who glorified it and made it as huge as it is now, if gtwy had it his way, he wouldn't have wanted that to happen, but it did, and he accepts that it has.

He doesn't have any ad banners up, he doesn't say "look at me, I'm cool", all he does is put up information that he finds to be legit in hopes that VALVe is reading along with what he says so they can find out who the original hackers are.

As far as I'm concerned, you should be ashamed to put down a crusader who only took on his quest because Gabe told us to (yeah that sounds lame, but I can't figure out what other words to use). He's not looking for attention (hell, he talks about how much he HATES it!) and you should all just let him be.

No, I don't have any reason to defend him, I just think that harrassing him is wrong. He's gone out of his way to do work he doesn't have to do, nothing else.

Who's the tool, SourceX or the dude who made the web page?

Also, I was under the impression that those were private IRC logs that were recorded and then passed on, not that the "reporter" was snooping in on the conversations.
 
i dont think source did it.....he definitly has the skillz to do it though. he is not stupid enough to blab off to anyone that he did though. ***** is some smart mother****ers.
 
to be honest, if you guys take note of this log (dated before the official announcement) it is believeable, i have been following this since it was first rumoured... fingers point to *****...

this is a log from joolz, a recently retired cheat creator. so there is good reason to contact him with info about the source.

gtwy is the most unbiased guy following the events, and i happen to find his site a very good source for files and logs, they all seem to point at the same direction.

I´ve said that in the past but HL2 is like chocolate it´s brown and thick and suspicious but everyone always comes back for more.

Well... Ive been to some other threads laying around the net but they seemed so uninformed and so unorganized, and then i found this while i was desperately trying to find a way to fill the information void that occurred when the source code was released.

Yes... i needed the fix. I was so desperate. I don't know what happened. I just heard about the theft and i needed the info on that.

*but how did it give you the fix?*

Yes! Thats whats so sad about it. I was caught up in all this information, it was so cool at first. All the info just kept coming at an alarming rate. The posts popped in like candy all the time, it was like ... a new fix every second. I never got tired of it.

*So the fix came all the time then?*

Yes, it kept coming in, every second the candy just jumped up on my screen and i could not stop. At some time the information came so fast that the machine that gave it to me started to get the hiccups. It could not handle the load i was demanding. It was so sad.

*Did it stop?*

YES IT STOPPED... IT STOPPED... UHUuuuuuu! ... i was so devastated. We broke the machine. And i wanted more. I could not sleep. When i finally managed to stop it was because i could not get any more. The machine was broke. I broke it. uhhhuhhhuhuhuuh... *sniff*

*so what happened after that?*

I desperately tried to find the info else were but ... it wasn't any good, it was a bad hit. I felt strange.

*So you continued your chase?*

Well... i managed to stop for 2 days, i was shaking, pale, peed in my bed, i felt like i had the flue.

Yes i got the shivers... and i needed to chase the dragon again.

*Yes we know ... we know, but its a good thing it stopped then*

No... it was bad... i needed the fix... and then when i was so low and the hunger was eating me up from the inside... IT SHOWED UP AGAIN!

Yes ... it came back.. giving me the fix, but this time it was not so good as the first time so here i am... desperately chasing the dragon. I'm hooked. I need to keep the shivers away. I need to stop!

Why would anyone blab so freely to some a random person that could be investigating them (gtwy)

Again, SourceX was not talking to gtwy. He was talking to a fellow 733t haXor idiot, trying to get the source file to another guy named joolz, a cheat programmer. joolz is the one who got the log and sent it to gtwy. I'm pretty sure SourceX wanted that chat kept on the down low.

just like it was for sept 30? maybe it is, maybe it isn't, to be honest i dont care. It doesn't really matter, either way i'm gonna buy it. I'm tired of getting hyped over nothing, so i have no set date in my mind, and i've stopped caring. When it's out, it's out. Period.
 
what it looks like from reading all of that,, was sourceX stole it, or someone above him stole it and gave it to him, and he held onto it for a while before eventually giving it to a few people, one of them being hitman8 who leaked it to everyone, so sourcex got pissed and kicked hitman8 outta myg0at.. and then tried to blame hitman8 for it being stolen..

just speculation, but thats how it appears from all these logs

oh and sourcex is the only one who goes to huge lengths to disguise his whois on IRC, everyone else just hangs around.. now if you know you were in trouble would you use your real information?
 
I would love to get hold of te one responsable for this. He wont have the ability to chew solid foods after i get done with him. Grrr this burns my biscuts
 
This big log proofs 1 thing: the thief has created that page, the whole damn thing or was part of it. It aint hard proof, but you can work from it, if you (want to) ignore that page, then dont even bother posting on this forum.

- My-g0t's SourceX is asking to get caught AND / OR
- GTWY admin is helping to fool us, AND / OR
- Offcourse the whole damn thing could have been made by the_unknown (PM-Joolz?), just follow the host the file is on!
 
i thought joolz quit the whole hacking business? that doesnt look strait but what ever. it does seem to be a myg kinda action, and joolz is japs
