I'm going to go buy this because all of my friends say that it's extremely addicting online. I have the first one, but I never really like it. It was like this..."Oh look an enemy!!! click click click click click click......" I thought it was boring. Whats so addicting about LOD online?

Getting new and rare stuff.

Although I don't have Diablo 2, I think that's what's so addicting about it.

Ahhh don't get it, it is so boring. All you do is play on part of the game over and over and over and over and over, then you go into a higher difficulty and power level to the same place and play the same spot over and over and over and over then you go to the hardest difficulty and power level to the same spot and play it over and over and over and over and over and then you get bored with that characters and make a new one...it is so boring.

Its all about getting items, you can beat the game in just a couple hours. I think the game is so boring.

Diablo 2 LOD is very good online. You should try hardcore: when you die you lose your character so its very exciting just trying to stay alive. I agree normal play is so boring.

That is, untill you lag at the worst possible time with a horde of pissed off Venom Lords on your arse. :hmph:

That is when assholes get trigger bot and kill you instantly. What fun huh?

My hardcore character back when was killed by a party-member who teleported back to the town to turn against me while her arrows (the guided variety) were already flying towards me. Ya, that was fun... :hmph:

But then I went back to regular characters and was one of the main PvP druids in the grove for a while. That really was fun... :)

This is the only video game my g/f is into... she bought me both original and the ex pack and grrr. I really wish she would play half life or SOMETHING besides Diablo II

But it was ok for a while, lvl 63 Druid, 39 Necro...

From someone who was hooked on the Diablo 1 shareware for almost full year, I find it odd that I didn't enjoy Diablo II as much. It was all there and more, and LOD only made it better, but there was always something missing.

Anyway, about the original question, if you found Diablo II boring LOD won't change much. Don't listen to your friends, they're biased :P

Edit - Oh yeah, Paladin all the way for me, but never been past level 50.

In the original (once I got the full version :P) I had the awesomest lvl50 (highest lvl possible in D1) Warrior. Worked so hard on him :)

Never happened to me. Cheating is close to none with the new patch. I cant believe people used to buy diablo 2 items over ebay :P.

The worst that happened to me is some bastard sending me a town portal in nightmare act 4 in diablos chaos sanctary. It was surrounded by demons of all shapes of form and was instant death for most people but not for my conversion paladin :) he survived a whole 3 seconds :). Ah good times.... my accounts probably been deleted now though.

I'm a reformed LoD addict, and while it can get repetative at times, there are always new goals to be set or challenges to be met, be it whether you're a seeker of the Grail, or just wanna try new builds. I played single player, so I didn't encounter any of the rampant cheating on the realms, and yes, you can still multiplay with a single player character. I would recommend the game, and if you have any queries, I recommend the PlanetDiablo Forums as there are (were when I used to post all the time) good and helpful people there - just like here, but a D2 flavoured atmosphere

I remember in the beta my friend and I were the best PVPs in the game(well we never lost to anyone), we would just go into a game and start insulting everyone and then we would kill them and laugh at them, that is what makes Diablo 2 fun, the PVP.
