Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light wasn't really on my radar yet, but last night's debut trailer changed that. Looks like a lot of fun, although admittedly it doesn't look like a Tomb Raider game. Not that I care. I was never really into that series. The game will be released this summer for XBL, PSN and Steam.

*sulks and goes to compare posting times*

Funny how we both posted something about Diablo-look-alike.

Heheh yeh, I noticed that as well. How did you find out about it? I saw a thread on Gaf.

Looks like fun times in coop.

Who's the tribal dude?

Showing Lara from this perspective during a game means that these guys are making the assumption that Lara's biggest reason for being iconic isn't because she's nice to look at.

Is this really going to be a diablo style clickfest or just a topdown shooter?

DO WANT

I love isometric games, i love diablo, i love Tomb Raider.

**** Yes

I just happened to pop over to Gametrailers.com and it was on their video headlines thing.

You mustve posted it as I was typing my post as a search result showed nothing.

Looks interesting. I would rather have a decent follow up to TR:Underworld but I guess this could turn out okay.

Looks good :)

There was a favourable preview on this in last month's Edge. The native warrior dude can throw spears into walls that Lara can climb and swing from and various other cool co-op maneuvers that involve combinations of his strength and her agility, plus ropes, shields, switches, traps etc.

Doesn't look too shabby.

Hopefully they'll release a demo first.

Hmm, at first I didn't think much of this when I saw some screenshots a couple months ago. I was disappointed, because I liked most of the Tomb Raider games, and figured this wouldn't turn out so good since they're breaking from what they're used to. But that trailer makes it look great. In general I don't like isometric games, but with a friend and the puzzles/action sequences the series is known for, it could be really fun. Definitely keeping an eye on this one.

Looks alright for an XBLA game.

looks like a fun little co op game
mmmm and for PC too :)

Eh, i gave up on caring about tombr aider long ago and I just ain't a fan of isometric games either :|

That isn't Tomb Raider in ANY sense of the word but I'll be damned if it doesn't look fun.
Even though the energy weapon flashy effects spam looks insanely out of place.

Not to speak of the native with an automatic rifle. That made me chuckle. "You're a fast learner."

Okay, of all the places in the world for us to critisize reality in games.

''Coz da gravity gun iz possible.''

And for a download game, that looks damn good. Should pass the time to Diablo 3.

They might as well just call this Diablo 3, I'm losing hope we'll ever get the real thing.

Tried the demo.
It's alright even though it feels like it's best played with a gamepad.

I wouldn't spend money for it that's for sure.

I think there will be one, but it isn't out yet afaik.

It is if you register for it at Gamespot like I did. It's kind of a beta demo, but if you buy the game after getting the demo code you can get the full game ready to play, hence how I'm playing in the above videos.

I'll wait for the Steam version. Too bad online co-op won't be included on release.

Also, interesting quote from Gamespot:

So ummm, I think whoever set up the download for the PSN version is going to get fired. They included the full game unlock...this game was probably going to sell for like $20. I know at least 500 people (including myself) have a copy. That's about $10,000 just thrown away.

That's most likely why the PS3 beta keys are not being given right now.

EDIT: god damn shakermaker posted faster.

Anyways, im downloading it now. Have been waiting to play this for a while, looks like fun.

Demo crashes as soon as i try to start singelplayer game :(

EDIT:

nvm, had to turn of tripple buffering.
