Did the mouse acceleration ever get fixed?

I couldn't play the original Bioshock with a mouse due to the crazy mouse acceleration. I waited for a few patches and watched the complaint threads on the 2k forums grow and grow without getting a dev response and ended up giving up. Does anyone know if it was fixed in later patches, or by no. 2?

Weird, I had never heard of this problem and I'm a huge Bioshock fan. It would be weird if it hadn't been fixed in a patch, but I'd assume that BS2 doesn't have the problem.
