Did the new patch nerf Expert?

After the latest patch(10th of November), Expert mode seems A LOT easier, it seems Valve have reduced the HP of all enemies or increased the damage of the weapons..
I'm kinda dissappointed, it feels too easy now, feels more like Normal was before patch.
 
Well, I just managed to finish it on Expert with AI, all AIs alive and well, I could never do that pre-patch, Tank goes down a LOT quicker, as does the witch.
 
Well, I finished Expert five times before patch with friends, good teamwork etc, it was never as easy as it is now(both online on public server and alone in single player).
 
toaster-man and me definitely felt that after failing to complete Expert on the release date several times and then completing it like three times within a pretty short space of time Valve had nerfed the game slightly.

It's more likely that either you're getting better, or the team you're playing with simply has a better bond.

Before Nov 10th, I managed to beat it just once (with two survivors killed and me and my mate barely alive). Now I've just beat it and it felt like Advanced. Maybe Valve wants to give a sense of accomplishment to all the non-hardcore players who are going to play it today for the first time? :cheers:
 
Weird.. I find it Harder :O!

But I don't think they nerfed it, you just had a few good runs. Yesterday I got a tank RIGHT after the checkpoint in the SEWERS, that never happned before and it wasn't spawned by an admin, we were on a dedicated server. Not to say that we started the map with 2 deaths and no more health packs.
 
Maybe a stupid question, but does AI Director take into account your performance in past games somehow?
 
Its worth remembering that the director is designed to effect things over the course of a 5 map campaign, with 2 maps you cant really say alot about it, the first 2 could be really easy, then it might decide to be ridiculously tough over the last 3, plus the end game rescue finalies are meant to be pretty tough, 2 tanks in quick succesion, aswell as loads of horde.

I had my first tank in the underground room full of pillars after the tracks today, tried playing the old line of sight game with him, only to realise he could smash the pillars apart rofl, was pretty cool though.
 
I have to agree, expert just feels so easy now. I've had like five runs in the row with random people in which we have cleared both levels without any restarts. And hordes seem to be easier to push of, one clip with the SMG seems enough now :/
 
I'm pretty sure there's a bug with regards to voting for different difficulties. At least on some dedicated servers.

Last night I played with some randoms, the lobby was Expert, the server we joined was Normal so we voted to change. It said it did, but gameplay was clearly still normal. We tried again and it seemed to become advanced. Took three tries before we were actually playing on Expert.
 
I feel like it's been nerfed too. I only managed to complete it once on release day, that was after many restarts and failed attempts. Also played for about an hour and half with 3 randoms, team work was pretty solid with that team too and we couldn't beat it.

After the patch I've beat it many times, even with very sloppy team work.

I really hope valve hasn't nerfed it. Lets hope its as hard again soon.
 
I don't think it's been nerfed. Some games are easier than others and everyone is getting better at the game.
 
Just had an Expert round with three boomers in a row, each accompanied by either a hunter or a smoker. Then round the corner with two members dead we had a tank. And a witch later on the level (admittedly with all members alive again).

Was ridiculously difficult. One of the hardest experts I've done.

I think it's just a case of occasionally getting easy directors, good teams, good luck or a combination of the three. I hardly think they need to nerf expert when there are 3 difficulties below it.
 
Its easy because when the game was generated, the survivors got an advantage. For example: one game the upgraded weapons spawned at the beginning of the second map. The rest of the map was cake walk because of that. Everything is randomly generated, so the game was made easier because the luck of the dice so to speak.
 
Just finished a game on expert with a random team. No health packs used on any of the levels and we attacked the witch too and boy she went down fast, I don't remember even reloading the SMG before she was down :/

Either there was a nerf or we got really lucky :/
 
Well, yesterday a friend wondered if they'd made expert harder (and we've finished expert several times). It really is just a case by case thing.
