title sais it all , i like games that come with more than one disk althouhg i hate switching them durning installation

Hopefully it will be a single DVD. That's the way to go.

yeah hl2 should be a single dvd , and then they shuold add another disk , with CS:S HL:S , and TFC:S , now that would be a sweet package

There will most likely be a DVD option, I don't know about about regular CD's though, maybe 2?

If it's only 2 - 3 disks whats the point of dvd? I can understand unreal tournement 2004 is 12 disks it should have dvd option. But dvd for a game that only has 2 - 3 disks wtf. plus i don't have a dvd player on my comp :burp:

F*** DVD!! why get a dvd player when my cd-rom can do the job???

what the hell are you on? UT2k4 is 6cds.. 12 cds wont fit into 1 dvd anyways. I thought HL2 was gonna be about 3.5 gig? wont that be about 5-6 cds?

Half-Life 2 is 3.5 GB uncompressed, but 2 GB compressed - so 3 CDs would do it.

Well, UT04 came with 6 disks I think, that game is 5+ GB, so i assume 2-4 CDs

well, 3.5 gigs, and some high quality cd have a gig on em, so say 4 cds 3,500/900=3.8so yeah 4, and the 1-2 cds with cs source and what not.

how many disks was far cry?

im asuming prolly 4 disk should sufice

Days. I share Silent_Night's idea of including HL2 in a DVD and the mods in another CD or DVD, that's a nice package :)

woops whatever i dint know i dont care. you know what i mean

Far Cry was 5 cds, i actually laughed when i learned that just because its like we're going back to the old days where games were around 5-8 floppy disks to install... i had a old terminator game that was 11 floppies

I think their moving towards dvd very gradually till most of the mainstream has one

Haha, you're right.

Man, whats gonna happen when it's 5-6 DVD's!

"Hey, Half-Life XXXVIIII should only be 3-4 harddrives!"

cause i know some ppl have dvd only dvd-roms. but i'll probably go with a dvd-burner with my next pc purchase.

Even if you don't have a DVD player, you can still buy the dvd and just mount it. Just a suggestion. DVD>CD.

Yeh well most of us don't even have DVD drives :afro:

Kinda off-topic:

But Everquest II is supposed to come on at least 10 CD's or 2 DVD's. Reminds me of the good ol' days when games came on 10+ floppies. :x

DVD drives are so cheap, there the price of a game ffs
thats only my say

are there really DVD drives that only play DVD's :( that no good

Haha, did you ever get the floppy disk version of Theme Park? It was on like 24 floppies. Took just over an hour to install. :D

Yeah, it would be really nice if it was only one DVD.

Yeah, I think it was a shitload of floppy disks with that old Beneath A Steel Sky game.

Yeah they're like £30-odd and a piece of piss to put in.
Splinter Cell: Panda Tomorrow was about 4-5 discs to install wasn't it? I think that from now on I may just buy DVDs were possible. So now you know.

HL2 will be on 1 CD, although it'll be the size of an LP.

No dvd will be 5, and Gabe said their WILL be a dvd so no worries.

Least be thankfull you won't have to change disks in-game :p
