differences between these 2 cards? 6600gt and 6800gt

Now, why would the 8600gt be so much more? Yeah, it has 256mb of memory, but is that it? The 6600gt has a higher core speed! 500mhz to 350mhz. Is the 6600gt so much less because its PCIe? or is the 6800gt so much more because its agp8x?

Any other opinions on these cards? As of now.. it sure doesnt look like the 6800gt is much better. Thx for any help

OH MY GOD! ERHMMM! That 6800gt will blow a 6600gt out of the water! It's 256bit while the 66 is 128, HUGE DIFFERENCE! It has a 12pixel pipeline which makes a gigantic difference, and I think (think!) the 66 has only 12.

But seriosly, 6800gt is better BY FAR! I'm gonna get one of these for my next system.

The 6600GT only has 8 pixel pipelines and a 128bit memory interface whilst the 6800GT has the full 16 pixel pipelines and 256bit memory interface. It doesnt really matter that the 6600GT is faster clocked because of those facts.

Yeah, I mean 16 when I said 12 for the 68. Didn't know the 66 was only 8 though.

Both are awesome but the 6800GT would easily beat the 6600GT, probably double, because the 6600GT is only 128-bit you'd see a really big difference between the two cards with AA and AF turned up.

Speaking of PCI-E I just noticed that the 6600GT he linked was PCI-E while the 6800GT was AGP 8x, make sure you have AGP and get an AGP card. And don't confuse PCI with PCI-E (PCI Express).

Yeah, i know that. BUT why are all the 6800PCIe cards so expensive? I got a foxconn intel motherboard for xmas, and i want to get a 6800PCIe card ratehr than the 6600.
