I want a decent digital camera for under $150(I don't mind buying off of ebay), any suggestions? I am not a n00b to cameras either, just digital cameras. The camera I use now is a Nikon SLR, with a broken light meter so I have to use a hand held one.

Um.....decent for under 150? You've gotta have an odd defenition of decent then. :)

How many Megapixles are you going for?

I should have said under $200, didn't know the prices would still be so high on ebay.

Wow, those 2 SLR cameras are nice, I am not sure how much I want to spend on a camera though since I need to buy an xbox still(old one broke). Would it be worth buying a nice digtal camera now or would it be out dated in 2 years?

Right now 5 MP is getting old. 6 is the new big thing, and 8 is getting bigger.

I'd say save up for a bit, wait for the 6 MP cameras to start going down in price, and get one of those. Even my 5 MP camera takes some really great shots.

If I could though I'd get an 11 MP camera. But thats a 'tad' too expencive right now :)

But the 6 MP cameras wont be out dated for a little wile, probably be the average for another year at the most.

But who knows. This stuff can speed ahead pretty fast.

That Canon S50 is an awesome camera, by the way. ;)

What about non SLR cameras that retail for under $250?

That's an awesome camera as well. Good sharp pictures well up to 8x10's.
We actually have a 11x17" printed out using that camera and it looks pretty decent.
Canons generally have a sharp picture for their megapixel and a solid lens.

What about the memory it comes with? Is it read/write, or once I use it up do I have to buy a new one?

Use it over and over. Just like a Floppy, CD-RW or USB Flash Drive.

Compact Flash is awesome for flash memory. Big enough to not loose it and hold on to it. Very durable and cheap to buy.

SD (Secure Digital) is also a good kind of flash and it's more popular over different devices (Camera, PDA, Camcorder, MP3 Player) but it's smaller and is not as durable. It can get shocked or become corrupt easier.

What kind of memory you need just depends on the camera model.
