digital cams

my dad has a cool digital camera which is the size of my cellphone. its 4.0 MP which 2X zoom and it has a 1 GB SD Card. the company is Kyocera which he works for.

Coming back to the question, u should get a camera that is small enough to fit on ur belt with the cover. if u get a 7.2 MP camera, u need a bigger storage card if u want to take the highest resolution pics. i go for either Sony, Nikon, Cannon, or Olympus. im not sure about Samsung cameras. make sure that when u get a camera, it comes with at least 128 mb SD card, or better.

I know that W7 is an awesome camera. Just make sure to be steady because it will blur your pics otherwise. It's one of the fastest compact cameras out there. From shot to shot and also from off to shot. I've had a lot of customer comments on the W series from Sony. Takes awesome shots perfect for 8x10 photos. ;)

Canon and Nikon are the only other 2 companies I generally look into for solid Cameras. The only other 7MP that comes to mind is the Canon S(D)500 (can't remember if it's SD or just S). It's smaller in size but looses that large LCD which the W series has. I think it costs a bit more too so.

tell me about digital zoom and optical, what should i be looking for

Digital zoom, is just like when you have a 512 x 512 image/picture, and make it 1024 x 1024, and it pixialates, so what you should look for is optical, which acts kind of like binoculars.
