Im trying to get my pc ready for hl2 and trying to find the best settings in my ati control panel. I ran alot of test and it seems that if i turn everything up in ati panel (open GL and direct 3d ) and run the stress test i get 95 -100 fps in stress test with everything set to high except V-sync off and 1024x768 res. Now on the other hand when i turn the settings down low you would think i would get better fps but i dont, i get worse fps in game with lower settings. Im very happy with what fps i get, but if there is somthing you want to share let me know. Also why does temporal Anti-alaising option only let you go up to 70 fps in cs:s what does that do.Anyways if you have the same setup as me or close to what i have these settings have been working for me really well. :D When im in a server i never drop past 60 even when theres alot of action somtimes in the 150's. :D

CS:S is CPU bottlenecked. That means your graphics card is spending most of its time doing nothing.

HL2 is a DirectX game (Direct3D - haven't heard that in a while).

I don't understand what you mean about temporal AA. You only want to enabled AA if your framerates are going to stay above your monitors refresh rate. Otherwise you will get a headache if you enable temporal AA.
