direct X and fx 5200

:flame: well i had a geforce Ti4200 and i wanted to get a new cheap card for half life 2... something with direct x 9 hardware.... well i dont understand ... when im in the options for half life 2 and i go to video and then advance.. under the direct x part hardware.. it says i have direct x 8... and 9 software... wtf.... i got the Msi Fx5200... it says it has x9 on the box but half life wont read it... well im lost on what to do... can anyone help me out....
i also used driver cleaner to see if it was my old drivers messing it up...

i'm having the same problem its is really pissing me off how does your halflife2 play? are the wallls and colours ****ed?

no the game plays sweet... looks find;.... but for the lack of direct x 9 hardware

your shortcut to half life 2 should look like that. right click > properties.. its under target.

i have done what you said and its helped alot all the way up until the teleport sceen then it goes all ****ed again. any ideas?
