My friend installed windows vista on his new computer and with his 8800 Ultra driver CD they only have DX 9. Is DX 10 already automaticaly installed into vista or do you have to download it and install like with 9? Also i remember there was a command you can put in the Run promp and it starts up some dx dialog which shows you all of your system specs in detail, including DX verison. Anyone remember what it was so he can check if DX 10 is already installed?

I tried searching for this but i cant find anything :/
thanks

start>run>dxdiag

yea the newest you can download is like 9c or something, but like on bioshock is says I'm using DirectX 10. I have vista and an 8800 too.

I bet the drivers on the CD are pretty old. Could be wrong but I think they issued beta drives for download at the time of the 8800's release for DX10 support. So I bet any new driver you download now should have DX10.
