Will include Shader Model 4.0

We don't know when the company plans to make this new marchitecture available but we expect that this will happen sometimes trough 2006. It's still too early to shift to Shader Model 4.0 as Nvidia and ATI won't have Shader model 4.0 hardware until middle of 2006.

Cool thanks for the link.

Offtopic, giant what does 6char mean, I have seen it explained somewhere else, but I can't remember what it means..

6char means the 6 character limit on each post. he just says that because the forum wont let him just type 'nice' and post it.

mabye by the middle of 2006 u will start to see dx10 games not major ones though

Meh... not DirectX X (10)?
I'm going to wait to upgrade my system till the first set of DX10 card hit the market.

Yeah, people use it that don't quite get the reason why there is a 6 character limit...

Dx10 should come with vista as with every major windows release. I'm thinking Nvidia and ATI are just trying to get Microsoft to release another version quickly. As this version will be out before vista.

Maybe they're saving DirectX 10 for a really important change.

Looks like I'm gonna hold out on buying a new 500USD card until mid 2006. My X800XT PE should be fine until then.
