Hi,
I'm having trouble with a decision. I can make some major upgrades to my pc (specs below). I would get 1 gig of DDR400, AMD Athlon 64, new mobo, and either an x800 pro or xt.

OR
I can get a 1992 KTM 250 E/XC dirt bike for $1,000.

HELP! what should i do?

I think the results of this poll will be biassed.... and if you posted the same poll on a dirt-bike webby forum you'd get a different result...

You should probably look for neutral grounds on which to post this poll, or just toss a coin :)

*ahem* gaming forum...

and anyway, you could hurt yourself on a dirtbike :(
PCs are nice and safe :)

and girls are attracted to 1337 gamers :naughty:

But they like big throbbing things inbetween their legs :O

OHOH! Sexual Inuendo Numero Ono

I'd say Dirtbike, since I also have a somewhat expensive passion outside of computers and I know if I had the money I'd chose that over an upgrade in a second. But it really depends on which you're more passionate about, so the choice is yours. Heh, yet another poll I'm not going to vote on (too bad there's no pie option, that's always safe :))

Get the dirt bike because your current computer is good enough already.

Christ, I didn't see his specs there. Be thankful for what you've got, mate :(

Buy the dirtbike... If it was me I'd get a car though.

The motorcycle you have found for $1000 is quite old as far as motorcycle technology goes. KTM motorcycles are infamous for being high maintenance bikes. They often break (especially the earlier models.) Parts for KTM motorcycles are hard to come by, especially a 1992. If you were to go down to your local KTM dealership, they would have to order the parts that you need even if your bike is a 2004. The waiting for parts on a 1992 would be insane if they even make parts for those nowadays.

You already have a good computer. Don't waste money on upgrades. If you look hard enough, you can find a high quality Japanese motorcycle for a price that isn't much higher. I suggest you save you money for a while and purchase a dirt bike. You will have so much fun with it. Whatever you do, don't get the KTM. Save your money and get a newer, higher quality Japanese bike. I'd go for something '97 ---> present.

:stare:

I love my dirtbike and would get it over an upgrade for an already decent PC. Especially if you have somewhere to ride it nearby. :D

Get the dirt bike. Way more fun then stupid PC stuff that will be dated in 3 month's plus you need to be "OUTSIDE" for racing with that dirt bike, which is good for you!

Or you could get in contact with Xzibit, see if he'll throw a PS2 on that dirtbike. Might even throw in some neons!

What kind of bike do you have Direwolf?

Oh and Vigilante, I already discussed this with you in PMs. Are you not going to get that 125 four-stroke? Trust me, you shouldn't get that KTM. That thing is bad news.

I found a 1998 yamaha yz125 about an hour from me for 1,700. I'm probably going for that.

A little Honda 100cc bike. Its great for trail riding and construction sites (my father is in excavation, so I have pretty much open access to them).

ahh.. yes.. bad money sucking PC components.. BAD BAD BAD!

I'd say dirtbike, because you obviously have a PC...

No they're not.

Girl's pity 1337 gamers. Though I suppose pity is at least some form of attention.

My friend crashed his dirtbike and broke his wrist... course he could've done a lot worse than that.

Worst you can do with a PC is get carpal tunnel from looking at too much pr0n!1!111!!!!1

Good. That's a race bike, but it should be okay. Mine is a 2004 Yamaha YZ 125. As if it weren't fast enough already, we put a Pro Circuit pipe and silencer on it, a flat cylinder head and flat piston (to achieve more compression), and a 51 toothed sprocket. My bike is very fast.

So what about your little brother Vigilante? What's he getting? Are you sharing the 125?

A few things you should check for are cracks in the frame, make sure the clutch pulls in nice and smooth, make sure it runs alright, be sure there are no holes or severe dents in the pipe (sounds wierd, but it happens), make sure the bars are not bent, and just make sure that the bike itself is in good condition. Also, check if the plastic is still like new.
