If your getting this message heres what to do.

Open Console and imput: cl_restrict_server_commands 0

If your still getting the same problem go to
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\your-user-name\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg\config.cfg
And find the line with cl_restrict_server_commands "1"
Change the 1 to 0

If it still dose not work repeat and make the config file read only.

ABOUT THE CVAR:
cl_restrict_server_commands was added to prevent unwanted commands being run on game clients. Before you disable this cvar, make sure you know what it does and the results. Here are the following numbers that can be used with cl_restrict_server_commands:

* 0 = Don't restrict any server commands
* 1 = Restrict server commands in Valve multiplayer games
* 2 = Restrict server commands in all multiplayer games

The bad thing is that every server with an anti-cheat plugin (zblock for example) bans you upon joining when it's set to 0.

Thats why I hate stupid vigilante anticheats. VAC does just fine without all the blunders these other systems make. I once got banned by AOCAB because of my name containing "bliink"

I've also been banned by an ISP server cluster automatically for the same reason.

Wait, I meant you get banned when it's still set to 1. Stupid confusion.

You'll have to change it, otherwise you'll get banned on 50% of the servers.

Bit of a stupid design decision by VALVe, I must admit. Even though it's a stupid design to ban when that command is set to 1, VALVe should have tested it with at least the common anti-cheats and server plugins, to make sure there were no conflicts in the first place.

We have a clan server and some members have this problem. How can we change the settings on the server so this doesn't happen. Would rather not change these types of settings on my own machine if I can help it.
