When I try to load a map in any Source game, I get the error "DispInfo_LoadDisplacments: dispcounts (x and x) don't match" I am assuming that it has to do with displacements, but a google shows nothing contructive and I can't search the forum for it.

Intel Pentium 4 3.4 GHZ
1 GB RAM
Asus GeForce 8600 GT
- the error started happening after I got this

Ideas please.

XP. It happened with the old drivers, but then I installed the newer ones that were released with Bioshock, and it didn't change anything, only it seriously ****ed up my computer, so I rolled back.

I tried to run a custom map without displacements and it ran fine. I have now updated my drivers correctly (I installed the wrong language version last time), but it doesn't seem to have changed anything.

Make sure your card is running at mat_dxlevel 95, I've run into displacement errors with mat_dxlevel 70; also try verifying your game in steam D:

There is no such thing as Direct X 9.5. I think I'm happy with the way it is, in options it says "DX 9+" when displaying my hardware limitations.

Verification done. Nothing happened.

EDIT: Actually the Displacement error doesn't happen while loading, the progress just completely stops, then I minimize and I get the error.
