Displacement Question

Just started using source from hl1 and im curious about the displacement tool, i notice how even though you contort the crap out of a brush it retains its original l,w,h (square) shape in the x,y,z grid of the editor so my question is would you have leaks if the brushes on the grid do not touch, but the faces from the displace brush do touch, is that adaquet to prevent leaks or errors?
 
displacement brushes don't block leaks, you have to block around them. The best way I've found to do this is to turn off the auto vis group.
