3. gameplay is incredibly boring sometimes, some of the levels are a chore to get through, the airboat level goes on forever. :sniper:

The lvls are only a chore if you're a newb: THIS MAKES NO SENSE. THE REASON IM FINDING THEM A CHORE IS BECAUSE THEY ARE HUM DRUM SEEN IT ALL BEFORE DOOM 3 STYLE GAMING, AND ITS EASY EVEN ON HARD SETTING.

graphics ARE as good as the screenshots and vids if you don't have a 386: IM RUNNING AT 1280*1024 WITH 2X ANTI ALIASING. I HAVE A 9800 PRO 1 GIG OF RAM AND A 2.7 PROCESSOR.

deal with steam: STEAM IS NOT THE PROBLEM, STEAM IS GREAT, THE PROBLEM IS PUTTING THE BLOODY DVD IN THE DRIVE WHEN THERES ALREADY ADEQUATE PIRACY SECURITY PROVIDED BY STEAM

They are exactly as they appeared in screenshots and videos. Tell me, why would Valve intentionally reduce the quality of graphics?

One of the turret sequences was so difficult that I had to cheat, and I've been playing these games since Wolf 3D. Valve ****ed up.

1) yeah i can imagine thats annoying Just deal with it.

2) are you blind or stupid? No offence. Maybe you PC isnt up to the specs for high graphic settings.

3) Airboat is a bit too long buts its great fun.

Quit complaining.

do u recall the video on top of the roof with the sun coming through the rafters? well that scene is in the game and is no where near as graphically detailed. and im running at about 80 fps on highest settings mate.

I'm assuming you are talkig about the jail section....just use tactics. I though my way through each section instead of guns a blazing and got through on medium with no problems.

Don't get all stroppy about it. Get your facts straight before you start complaining.

That video was shown at the HL2 Launch Party (well before the launch) on Alkatraz Island with ATI. It was a Source Benchmark demo, which was shown to illustrate what the Source Engine could do, along with HDR effects.

Valve has said all along that HDR wouldn't be included with HL2 just yet, possibly later on.
