DLL Problems

Hey, sorry to disturb you people, but I have a problem, my brother messed with the desktop, and now I cant get my screen out of 4bit 800*600 resolution. (which is not the setting he set)

I get the message that I had an "error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl"

which means appantly that a DLL initialization failed

I'm running windows XP, and the problem truly started after he tried to turn the pC off and it was taking forever to shut down and so he decided to press the power switch.

I then turned on the computer and was faced with some kind of error message from which I started windows from last known good configuration. Now I'm lost up a creek with no paddle.

If someone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking NvCpl stands for NVIDIA Control panel - uninstall and reinstall your NVIDIA graphics card drivers.

Get them here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_53.03 (for XP/2000).

You must have messed up with the regedit or the msconfig, and removed the NvCpl from the startup... Reinstalling solves that problem
