Do many people play with the left handed gun?

I reckon most veteran players that were around in the BETA days will still use left handed models. Up until BETA 6.0 in 2000, all the models were left handed :)

That's not correct, is it? I believe I played with right handed in 5.6. I have never played with left handed, it feels wrong...

Yeah I might be wrong on the specifics of that actually, but up until a certain point the models were all left handed only.

Well why would you you want to play with left hand does it make it better ?

I've always played left handed cuz im left handed. I tried right handed once and it felt wrong.

^lol, i tried left handed and it just felt wrong. it like blocks your view of the left side of the screen that youve become acustomed to seeing. strange that....

Does anybody play without the weapon models? That would be pretty beneficial, freeing up all that space in either corner of the screen.

I tried that once, but i just completely lost control of recoil. Seeing the gun is suprisingly vital in judging recoil.

Do you have the mouse on the right or left side of your keyboard?

just curious..

i use left hand and im right handed.....it just feels better and easier to play for some odd reason. its just personal preferance.

I switch between left and right handed models. Left handed just feels more natural and "right" in CS:S..

I tried the right hand models once, but I was annoyed that the model was just mirrored. That means that the shells were ejected from the left side of the guns rather than the right side, which is standard for firearms. I don't know if that issue has been fixed though since I haven't tried it the other way in a looong time.

Gaaah. Left-handed models make me shudder.

Prolly 'cause I'm a righty and everything else feels wrong. :p

I'm left handed, but I've always been used to the right-handed look. Left-handed just looks wierd and uncomfortable.

Same here, I mean, I can play left handed but it just doesn't feel right not being able to see the half of my screen I always have.

Yeah i it's so wierd with left hand models.
Although im sure if u used them enough u would get use to them.

Another thing that suxs with having no gun model is that you cant tell if your holding a nade, a hand gun , or a rifle as well as when its done reloading......My brother is right handed but plays with his model in his left, makes me want to vomit when I'm watching him play...

I also play with left handed models, mainly because I'm left handed. It would just feel odd to play otherwise.
Though I use my right hand to play with the mouse. Are there people who actually use the mouse with the left hand?@_@

I am left-handed. I use the right hand for my mouse and the right-handed models. I want the gun to be where the mouse is located. :)

A member of our clan used to adapt the model for every corner.
e.g. if you have a right turn, he switches to left-hand model and the other way round...... :)

There was a command to change it to right handed, I remember that was the only way to change it until they fixed it.

Nope, they are still just mirrored, but that can be fixed with custom models. As soon as it was available I switched to right handed. Lefty always felt weird as I am right handed. The main thing that bothered me with left handed models is that he didn't even model the weapons correctly. He made them bass ackwards so that you could see the slide catch, mag release movement etc... trouble is, on all of the real life guns he used in CS. none of them have ambidextrous controls. So, they were never modeled correctly. And now you've got reversely backward guns if you switch to right handed.

I was hoping they would bother to fix this in the CS:S overhaul, but no, they didn't completely. It's odd. They remade all the guns, correct? But from what i've seen they've only corrected the MP5 to be working properly for right handers.

I think they should fix it. it seems like theyve just reskined the weapons and gave them new sound (not all of them, and that buggs me).. I demand realism :p

left handed all the way baby :) been like it for so long when they changed the defualt to right i was totaly like wtf. and switched it back.
but i'm actually right handed.

Yeah I do. I'm left handed and play with the mouse in my right hand, and use the left handed model. What I want to know though, is if when you select either, it is shown to other people looking at you. Would that be the case?

Oh and to the person who said about the guns just being mirrored and stuff, I think that they only did it to save time, and that only people who really took notice, and knew about guns, would realise - and considering that a lot of Counter-strike players are now newbies, why bother?

Im right handed and i play with a right handed model, i tried left but it does feel weird.

it seems awkward but from a lot of screens and vids i see, thats all ppl do
Well the moddler for the original cs beta stages was left handed. So the models he made were, naturally, left handed. I prefer right hand, though i have been playing for a long time.

I play with left hand, and I'm a lefty IRL.

If I try and change it to right hand I'm still good, I can play either way fine

I believe valve said they didn't kept it the way it is because it looked cooler
