On the main page for the forums there is a "General Forums" listing. Under this listing it has a Newbie Central, General Off-Topic Chat, Hardware Software & Troubleshooting, and Art and Design, forum areas.

If you could find a specialized area like Newbie Central, Hardware Software & Troubleshooting, and an Art and Design listed there, you would also expect to find a General Gaming Area there, not in a sub-folder on the general off-topic chat. If anything PC games are more on-topic in relation to Half-Life 2 than a Newbie central.

This sub-folder thing is nice, but I think that a gaming forum should be on the main page not placed as a sub category. Many people already forget to talk about games in there anyway, they just use the general off-topic chat. I could see the Newbie Central placed in a sub-folder, or some of the other topics on the front page, but it seems to me like this general gaming subfolder was placed there simply to try out this new feature.

Well, I guess your opinion is that we don't need one. I'm just asking for peoples' opinions, not that anything be changed. I can't decide what to do and this is a great forum anyways...but if I don't get my way I'll start stalking the moderator's families and :sniper: :x :x! of course I'm j/k about the stalking... or am I...

i prefered it when it was all a big mess in off-topic so i didn't hafta search around so much. This way i might end up missing some game news by forgetting to check the sub forum.

Well u can just pull down the slider thing at the bottom of the page but well we are too lazy for that.....
