i definately do!

seen all the psychics around the world, all of them talk to relatives and dead people.
and when we die we rejoin with them :O

i love reading psichic columns and shows like "john edward or colin fry" , lol (as i mentioned earlier) :p

You do know most of those are fakes right? And Mediums were proven to be con artists years ago.

It's a nice thought that you can talk to the dead but until some real undisputed proof comes along, I think its just that, a nice thought.

Thank you dark elf. Someone they'll listen too. I personally don't I think death is like a long sleep. But without any dreams or anything, you're just nothing.

i dont think thats true, theres too much stories/tv programmes/evidence that life does exist after we die

EDIT: i dont believe in heaven or hell either. just that theres some sort of life after we pass over :E

I personally think death is just that. You die, the end - you cease to exist.

Do they? Or are you relating to jonathan edwards again?

I have my own theory about life after death. I think its an eternal dream of our lives before. Who knows...maybe we're dead already and dreaming our former lives.

Or I've been watching too many weird movies and listening to too much weird music....

But hey, thats what I believe. I don't believe in Heaven or Hell or a higher being.

With luck, Eternity in the afterlife contemplating ones navel doesn't sound all that appealing to me.

Well, I've never had anyone from my family 'visit' me, but I did have encounters with these 'entities' as some people call them.

Im agnostic....i hanebt made up my mind yet..but i sure hope for some more life..reincarnation would be cool :) I hope i will be rich in my next life :D

but if people get killed unnaturally, e.g Murdered, they stay here as ghosts, roaming around. if thats true, , thats harsh and sounds like punishment :|

I've read somewhere that those are people that don't want to move on, or still have something to do here or something like that.

see if i was stuck down here as a Ghost, id Haunt people i didnt like :naughty:

Reincarnation would be cool, but I think heaven would suck...what would you do? I don't think you could possibly keep entertained for eternity.

The worst thing I can think of that could happen to you when you die is - You simply lose control over your body. Almost like your paralysed. So you helplessly watch on as they close the coffin, and you can hear the mud bury you as you just lie there screaming (well trying to). So your there forever. And forever is a long, long time. But anyway if that was the reality of death, God I don't wanna die! :p

I have thought about that same thing too, scary stuff...

I don't know...I think being dead is just the same as before being born.

thats where i think reincarnation comes in :D.
if there is such a thing.lol

some people believe that you have been other people before, like people in the 1600's or sumthing, or even romans and animals.

in a womb then? LOL

There is absolutely nothing after you've died. It all goes black. All your thoughts disappear. As a person, you're erased. The only things left are a corpse (that will soon decompose) and the memories that others have of you.

Sometimes I'd scare myself with thoughts of death. I once had this idea that the last thing you feel before death is something you'd experience for eternity. Drown? You'll choke forever. Set aflame? Burnination for all time! During sex? Well... I'd imagine you'd get quite sick of it after a while...

Dying during sex would be a great way to go.....ofcourse, at the climax!

can you imagine falling from a plane and your parachute has broken.
your telling me that when you die, youll be falling forever, cos people die of shock before impact when falling from that height.

i dont believe that :/ lol

there is another life after death, where you meet all your relatives, im telling you, theres gotta be"!

that statement is logically wrong: life does not equal death.

when we die we are no longer alive. so life has nothing to do with the state that our souls (or whatever that is left) are in.
a different type/state/plane of existence most probably, but not life

I think that when we die our self/soul is freed from the shackles of physical body and continues its travel to another, undefined existence. think of our life here as it was only one step of many. nobody knows what was before and what will be next. but for me living just for a moment, apearing from nowhere and then completely vanishing would be pointless.
and nothing in the universe is pointless
there's reason for everything, ya know?:p

I dont know, there might be some form of existence but I find it most likely that when you die you are gone.

yeah, gone from earth, but then passing to another life. eg spiritual world witht he rest fo your family . :cat:

I don't believe in life after death, seeing as your brain cease working you're CURRENT mind dies atleast, there might be life after death but then you shouldn't remember your previous "life".:p

I'm not really sure on this. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it doesn't seem very realistic to me. Our person is composed completely of organic material. Our existence is entirely physical (at least from what we can tell). So if my physical self dies, both my brain and body go, then how could I continue to live on in some other reality or state of existence? It doesn't make sense to me. It's a very comforting thought, but I don't see much evidence backing it. Most people that claim to have experienced some sort of phenomena with ghosts or the supernatural seem to be grasping at straws. It’s never something they can prove, and to be quite honest I wouldn't be surprised if they made themselves believe the things they claim out of desperation and a need to believe that life has a greater meaning. People seem exceedingly good at brainwashing themselves when it comes to other situations, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t happen in this one.

Still, it doesn’t really matter. Death is inevitable, and whatever comes after it will remain unknown to us until we get there ourselves. If life ends with a bright tunnel of light that leads to some heavenly existence, that’s wonderful. If the end feels like you’ve simply passed into a dreamless sleep, that doesn’t sound too bad either.

No, I don't. Although, Im open to hear any scientific reasons as to why there could be life after death. I think a lot of people fear death so much so that they like to believe that there is something else beyond this world. Thats probably one of the reasons why some seek out a religion, fear. Fear of death and the unknown.

So true Satch, most people fear death, that's why there's religion and such imo, people need something to make'em believe the life ain't "worthless", I don't see why people have to be so scared of death, it's a part of life, might as well be prepare for it.

do I believe in the afterlife:

no, highly improbable

jeez people will never get it
UR GONE U WONT CARE ANYMORE IF U GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL
CUZ U DONT EXSIST ANYMORE

I beileve there is, but then again who cares, if there is'nt, you will be dead and you wont care anyhoo :)

Yes, there is life after death. My own personal expereinces are evidence of this, if only for myself.

qckbeam, I wouldn't be so presumptuous. There is much about ourselves that very few understand. It is my experience that our physical parts are rather insignificant in the long run, and serve only as a vehicle for the duration of the time a physical vehicle is required.

Relying on science to tell us if there is anything to us other than our physical counterparts is rather irrational, considering science lacks any tool to measure beyond the phyisical in the first place, let alone comprehend it.

Many here would benefit from approaching religion and faith with more understanding, and not simply chaulk it all up to people who are no more than deeply afraid. Why can't it be people who have tapped into something very deep within their soul, and have decided to trust in it? Why do they have to be reduced to cowards? Why are athiests not cowards for turning their backs on a truth, fearfull of what it might mean?

My advice, rely less on science. It is very fluid and the truths science offers you today will be very different than the truths it offers your children. Do not ask it to explain things beyond the universe, it is still trying to figure out whats going on within the confines of our own solar system, our own planet, our own bodies. Science is an infant when you compare what it knows to what it hasn't even begun to understand. Pay attention to science, it is a very important tool, but don't treat it as the new religion, it's word being infallible.

Also, take some time to meditate ffs. Cease the daily rush for just a few moments and be still. Then next time be still a little longer. Then, when you have learned to still your body, still your mind. Soon, your mind will open itself to you. Explore it, revel in it, try to understand it. After this, your soul will open itself to you, eplore it, realize it, attempt to understand if you think you can. Meditation is one of the single most important disciplines a human being can undergoe. It is the springboard to understanding yourself in ways otherwise impossible.

Just my thoughts on the subject, take them to heart, ignore them, tear them apart. Whatever.

meditate eh? :naughty:
how can i do this, sit leg crossed with my thumb and finger joining, oh and chilling music?

lol. does anyone here meditate then? :O
